I did gymnastics when I was younger.. that was like 10 years ago lol , I'm the larger type of girl but I am a base in cheerleading and i guess I'm big boned and muscle and stuff, but do you think that since I'm the bigger type I should still start gymnastics again? @lyd3699 fracturing a vertebra will not paralyze you unless the spinal cord is injured. Lots of people have spinal injuries and are paralyzed, but not all back injuries are involving the spinal cord.

Tabzzz-3! I used to do gymnastics too, but then I broke my neck and now I'm paralyzed :/. And unfortunately, in Scotland we always get really heavy snow in winter! And I'm sorry I type a whole lotta crap but, you're a LEGEND! mwah-3.
Regarding your injury. How long was your initial recovery? What type of therapy was required? I suppose everybody gets hurt bad sometime in their life, but when you are young and it takes you out of your sport...how did you deal with it?
@candyloversful well, you SHOULD stretch everyday, attempting to do split/strattle/high kick, ect. and try going lower/higher every week. or if you just have a lot of time, maybe every 3 days? Also, try to keep your body in good condition (weight wise). I think she USED to stretch everyday but idk. anyways, this is my advice because i used to be able to do all that from what i'm telling you- hope its helpful!
@TheCandycaneable when I was in competition I did stretches and conditioning for over an hour before I started tumbling and flipping. :D It would have made the video waaaayyyy too long to make an actual conditioning video

Ive always wanted to do gymnastics but i am def NOT flexable at like all. I wish I was. I wish I could do those things that you can do D: . Stupid unflexability
@HaleyMain You can become flexible by doing flexibility exercises. It takes a while to become damn near a pro like Tabs, but if you put your effort into it.. and make it something that you REALLY want to do, then you'll be flexible in no time. Just remember to be very careful, and to never rush into main things. And also remember that practice makes perfect :D -goodluck!
When you broke your spine surely that would have made your back a lot stiffer and harder to bend...so how are you so flexible still? Did you have to do a lot of work to make sure you were able to do that again or were you instantly able to??
