Nowadays, a cartoon like this would probably never be able to get onto Saturday mornings lets alone, the Cartoon Network or Disney XD without someone saying that this would be too violent, which is totally sad.

@poisongambit Yeah. The 80s was a time when cartoons had some balls. But these days, people are so biased towards that stuff. And I agree; these are sad times we live in.

I remember this cartoon back when I was a kid watching Saturday morning animation. I have to admit, Filmation was one of the best animation industries back in the 70s and early 80s besides Hanna-Barbera and Sid and Marty Krofft.

I remember the Saturday morning cartoon, but I also remember the full length movie on TV back in 1982. It was the only time it aired. This was filmation at its best. It had more of an adult feel to it, even though they used footage from the movie in the tv series.

I watched Flash Gordon when I was 7 years old I think. It really is a forgotten cartoon, but I remember it to be nothing but amazing. The good old kiddy days lol :)

@Drayton42677 I haven't compared my DVD set with this video yet but some of the scenes look similar. If I remember it correctly the DVD set I got was ordered from Amazon. Hope this helps. In fact, that set had additional episodes as well of Ming in hiding and just going about the usual business of playing the villain - 15 / 20 minutes episodes.

This needs releasing officially on DVD with bonus features,Making of,Merchandise and all sorts of stuff in a special edition!! I mean come on this is Deep and an incredable adaption of the Flash Gordon Comics. In 2 words its (FUCKIN BRILLIANT)...........
