  • i got nothing against the fella, but i thougt he said "penis" at 0:27 , ;D

  • it took me years to realise he was saying peanuts. My kids love it now and are forever asking me to play what they call the 'hotdog song'

  • He should have change the lyrics a bit, like the word peanuts :P

  • i remember this we needed to play this song on keyboard on school xD about 1 week ago i was sick and didnt practice i did it veyr well and got a very good score

  • There will never again, be a decade, like the 1950s again. Such simple, pure fun lyrics. He died far to soon indeed.

  • Haha verry funny i've learned this song on my school xd

  • lol, "bet my penis" haha. I dont hear peanuts lol

  • "I bent my penis through a candy bar."

want some candy? HA HA HA

    but really, EDDIE ROCKS!

  • duh! was never banned, released as a single in 62, & originally on his singing to my baby album in 57, six hot dogs lol that's just greedy

  • Thank you .. I had forgotten this recording existed..

  • My favortie Eddie Cochran song, brilliant !!

  • This is another song where the more you hear it ,the better you like it!

  • My favorite song by Eddie Cochran. Another great rock-a billy/ rocker who died way too soon,in a car-crash after a performance in England.

  • Hi Rover TCB

Great track thank you.I agree with you, they don`t make em like that anymore do they?

The sounds of the 50s and 60s were just great.

    Kind regards Concretejockey.

  • i love this song!!! woo

  • I love this song because brings back great memories. EDDIE always be part of me for live!!!!

    Sincerely,

    Jim.

  • he is totally saying penis. No two ways about it. The second time around he even laughs as he says it.

  • Did you know this song was was banned in the 50s because of the line "bet my peanuts to a candy bar" sounded an awful lot like something else? i thought that was interesting and ive been reading his bio =P

    haha RIP Eddie

    We'll never forget you

  • Haha, they really banned everything in the 1950s...I've never heard this story before, where did you find this? In which biography?

  • Yeah seems like it haha.

Im reading "Three Steps To Heaven: The Eddie Cochran Story" its a real good book i suggest it =]

  • i just bought that book! hope its awesome! cool to read about how he was of stage as well:P

  • I've read that book, it was pretty goood. I don't remember the part about this song being banned though...Sounds like I found an excuse to read it again :)

  • yup haha. i just read the parts about eddie and skipi over the parts where Bobby Cochran is talking about hmiself =]

  • He sing peanuts but your imagination carry you away...

  • I have never heard this song by Eddie until recentl but you have to admit that line sounds an awful lot like penis instead of peanuts. But Iknow eddie meant to say peanuts

  • Sure it's really, really close to penis. I wouldn't be surprised if Eddie chosed that peanuts word as it sounded so close to penis...just because he liked it. I know in that book mentioned below that Bobby also said in the book that it sounded like he sang penis.Haha

  • @squirrelnutcased - What's the name of the EC biography you're reading? Did it say where the radio banning of the song was? i know Gene's song Woman Love was banned (US) b/c of the way he blurred the first word on "huggin' and a kissin". I've always joked with my friends about the peanuts line. I think some old-time way of saying the word. We now say Pee-nuhts, but growing up, i remember hearing people pronounce it like Eddie does here, Pee-nitz.

  • @squirrelnutcased I thought penis to a candy bar when I heard it. I was so shocked i had to look it up, haha

  • @squirrelnutcased

When I first heard this song I was like O: when I heard that....I really thought he said something else..xD

    Still sounds like it.. .-.

  • @squirrelnutcased hahahaha bet my penis xD

  • MERCI..EDDIE THE KING.

  • DooDoodoodlydoodlydoodoodoo. One of Eddie's best forgotten songs I think.

  • Thanks to RoverTCB for excellent video!

    Jim.

  • I remember this song from when I was in grade school in the 1950's. Had it on a 78 record.

  • i love the song ,

    rock´n´roll will never die .

    rock´n´roll and rockabilly forever.

  • True .. rockabilly rebel until the day i die

  • @rockabillygirl96 -Agreed,, but don`t forget doo wop, as this is a rock-a billy doo wop blend!

  • Actually I'm from France...You're a big Eddie Cochran fan?
