I saw his show once, and he did owe me $160. But, it was terrible. It was a racket. Playing loud music behind him and you couldn't always always hear him anyway. Also the worst Elvis impressions I've hear from a pro. Being an impressionist of over 100, I didn't like it. But neither did my dad..he also doesn't try to make himself look like the person really. He didn't have an elastic face like me. Or that other guy had. But that really does suck he died at just 52..R.I.P. sure.
I saw Danny Gans even before he made it big in Vegas---he would perform in the baseball dorms at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, Ca. He wanted to be a pro baseball player--really! But he entertained us with his impressions. We told him he should try show business instead! Thank God he did--so thousands of others were able to enjoy his talent! I have those old memories in my head of him performing about 35 years ago when he was in college! He truly will be missed. May God be with you all!
Conflicting news reports - one story says he passed away in his sleep. The other story says he woke up with shortness of breath and his wife called 911 and passed away while waiting for emergency help. Hmmmm...the official cause is still unknown.
Thanks for that post, it was very heartfelt. As one fortunate to see Danny Gans perform I am somewhat speechless at his passing. He was "the Man" in Las Vegas and by all accounts he remained a G-d fearing humble man. I have a video of him performing that now seems more precious than gold. RIP Danny you were the best!
PRESS STATEMENT FROM FELLOW LAS VEGAS IMPRESSIONIST:
Danny Gans was a fantastic performer and will be missed by me and millions of other fans. My heartfelt prayers go out to his family and friends who, along with his faith were the core of his life. "Thank You Danny Gans, for bringing so much joy to so many people!" RIP my friend.
I never saw Danny except on billboards after those 2 gay magicians act got taken out by a white tiger but now that I see his impressions on youtube Danny Gans was a really good impersonator, I kinda feel that Las Vegas held him back, if he were free to do his show worldwide he would've been more well known and appreciated
Just saw him a few months ago... I AM IN SHOCK, He was an amazing performer... why do these out of this world entertainers die young? Now Vegas is stuck with horrible Gans ripoff Gordie Brown!
Hi JSEProduction: 52 is TOO young, you are right! RIP Danny Gans, a fabulous entertainer here in Las Vegas, he was wonderful and definitely worth the price of admission. Bernie Mac - every time I see him on screen, I still can't believe he is gone. Peace...
