  • It looked nothing petty's flip off of 4.

  • @ Bluestorm 5 yes, these are his exact words, he said them to team owner and best friend Richard Childress.

"Richard if they don't do something to these cars its gonna end up killing somebody" Less than 30 laps later we lost the greatest driver to ever live, RIP #3

  • If only Dale Sr. got caught up in this wreck, he would probably be alive today if he couldnt finish the race or he would of been a slower car on the track.

  • Dale Earnhardt Sr kind of foreshadowed his death while talking to crew chief during red flag. Dale swear that someone will get killed if NASCAR don't do something. He died 2 hours after saying these words, and we got bunch of new rules and new safety figures.

  • Look how low the fence was, could you see Carl Edward's wreck at the Talladega in 2009 how dangerous that would be! Good thing they raised all of the fence at most tracks!

  • Everyone will remember this race for what it is..

  • If Dale crashed there, he'd be alive today.

  • pause a 2:22 for the best moment.

  • 0:04 Ha! The 4 and the 20.

  • wow they touched dale but he never moved

  • NEVER realized HOW close Dale got to getting in this wrekc....wow, what would have happened if he got in it?....

  • LOL at Stewart at 2:05 telling the crew to put 4 tires on after he flipped down the backstraight LMAO

  • @minonkracer that was kenny schrader.

  • Stewart should have died in this race too. Thank god for restraints.

  • @bandman232 You're a prick.

    Unless I misunderstood your comment.

  • @jugoschopia No. What im saying is that the crash he was in could have killed him, but live cuz of the restraints. Im a huge Stewart fan. ^^

  • @bandman232 dick

  • @SmokeDog9522 What im saying is this crash is bad enough to seriously ghurt. god no i dont want hime or anyone dead. Im a stewart fan.

  • What happened that day was fate. RIP #3

  • pause at 1:21

  • If Burton was about 1 MPH faster, Dale would still be racing. Just a clip and a slide. Recover. Get back on

  • This is the wreck everyone wants Earnhardt to have been in.

  • I watched that race live that day. My god both Eardhardt and this crash toppled on top of each other. First we saw this thing and then we saw the death of Dale.

  • Ewilliamsrules, How could Stewart of died at the hospital if it showed him fine in the car?

  • if u look closely about 2 or 3 cars go under Tony wen he was in da air

  • look at earnhardt... he made it by a hair. Why wasn't he involved in that wreck??? Wish he wouldn't have been involved

  • i wish that Dale Earnhart was involved in that accident just enough so that he could have had some small damage and a tire down or something so he would have been a lap down or something so we wouldn't of had to watch the fatal crash that took Dale Sr. life R.I.P. you are missed

  • of course but you dont know if he had been hit hard and died anyway

  • i have seen tony boxed at daytona and they all hit him hard enough to come in like 11th he can take a hit he is doing good this year and i think he can make it far

  • You know this race is a tearjerker to watch. For dale, but Tony may have gotten killed if Earnhardt were to hit Tony?? I miss Dale though, god that's tough to watch.

  • at 1:30 u can c that a car kinda hit #3. u can c a black car w/ silver & red trim get hit alittle bit by the 4 car. i bet if the 4 didnt get hit by the 22 (ward burton) dale wouldnt have died cuz that wreck is how he got up to the front

  • good quality

  • dale earnhardt was so close if he wouldve goten in it he would probably have like 10 championships right now and have over 100 wins

  • probably?? no definately. jimmie johnson wouldnt be sittin with 3 straight title.

  • i don't know how tony survived that crash.

    good thing he's still alive.

    GO TONY!!!!

  • ya right ever tryed to stop a car goin 200 mph

  • lol isnt the first thing you learn when learning to drive is were the breaks are? guess these 43 drivers forgot...

  • Back when this race happened they didn't freeze the field when caution comes out, they raced back to the start/finish line to get placed for the restart.

  • i still think its crazy to drive full throttle through tire smoke like that O.O

  • even so, his belts still failed and he was wearing a open face helmet.

  • tony was using a HANS device and his belts didnt fail like Earnhardt, he also had a full face helmet.

  • I believe Geoff Bodine was the only driver with a HANS device on during that race.

  • yea, I think you're right. Tony took a long time to use the HANS; he used the Hutchens for awhile. The device wasn't made mandatory until October 2001.

  • What was also important was that Tony Stewart was always moving forward even while flipping. The same thing happened several years to him at Talladega.

  • @kartdriver719 no, tony is the one who got told by nascar to use it or he would be suspended. he thought it was restrictive.

  • lol everything for Darrell Waltrip is a "whale of a ride"

  • probably the only time ill say this... but i wish dale woulda been in that wreck and sent to the garage

  • i think the same thing all the time when i watch this. me and a friend were watching and i realized how many possible ways things coulda happened differently and he'd still be on the track.

  • @Carpenter1125 if he wrecked with tony, nascar wouldnt have pushed for a device to keep drivers safe from what really happened to dale RIP dale

  • its amazing tony lived through that insane crash. but dale didnt make it through his... seemed like a normal love tap

    :(

  • That's the way it always seems to work in NASCAR. The most harmless looking wrecks are the ones where people get seriously hurt or killed. The big spectacular ones, the drivers walk away unhurt.

  • thanks for posting this, finally i can see what happened clearly!

  • You can see Earnhardt go under the wreck and get by with no problem. I can't help but think if he had gotten collected in that wreck, he would still be with us today.

  • But many people, who say that don't realize, he probably would've hung up the helmet by now if he was still around, or at least racing part-time. Had he been in it, he most likely would be around. But unfortunately, the safety we have probably would not be here & more drivers would've died, if not for Earnhardt's sacrifice.

  • @IamTheShermanator just what i was thinking! If he was involved and by how he escaped almost was he might have been hit slightly less harder then the final lap incident because he would have slown down already

  • @IamTheShermanator i always thought that

  • at 0:47 tou can see a car go straight under tony as he flips!

I h8 stewart, but it's good that there weren't 2 deaths in that race.

  • That has to be the scariest sound. You spin backwards and then silence...

  • yeah i know and some people actually think they stopped from how quiet it is and they open up there window net only to fid out that they are still in the air

  • the impact made when Stewart hit the 4 car looked really bad. Even though i hate Tony Stewart, i feel bad for him being involved in the crash.

  • well, i think he was hurt, this just shows 7 years later. if tony were to get involved in that same accident in the COT, he walk right away, that just goes to show the advances made to these cars

  • wow hes leaving gibbs

  • what i dont get is why is it that Tonys car hit with such force like Dales car but Tony didnt get injured but Dale died....how does that happen? guess it wasn't his time i guess.

  • yeah, i think when we are given birthdates, deathdates come along too

  • he got turned so he hit going sideways, Dale hit head on

  • Dale wore an open face helmet and his chin struck the wheel and his head jerked back and snapped his brain stem. It's called basilar skull fracture. Many believe that if he had a closed helmet, he would have lived. Stewart had a closed helmet.

  • Also he wasn't wearing a HANS device, so he broke his neck on impact

  • This wreck reminds me of Ricky Craven's flips at talladega back in 1996.

  • Man, I would of liked to see Labonte's cockpit cam when Tony landed on him.

  • and robby gordon

  • I watched this entire race--Tony landed on Bobby Labonte, the driver of the 18 Interstate Batteries car, his JGR teammate at the time. I am a HUGE Tony fan and I rarly miss a race. I have been a fan since 2000. He is the best!

  • @Patken1956 true dat GO TONY

  • stewart and labonte sre scrap newman is the best

  • stewart

  • it was labonte

  • hey bitch...it was labonte u suck gay balls

  • stewert landed on labonte

  • he landed on robby gordon moron

  • WTF? It was labonte. He drove the 18 for some time before going to the 43. Robby never drove the 18

He went 31-7(More, but I don't feel like putting more.)

  • no when stewart first got airbourne, he landed on robby gordon, then flipped, then landed on labonte
