hey i heard that the battery doesnt last very long, and people need to recharge it every night. i was wondering if thats true or is it that they can save battery power by turning off certain apps that waster power. i'm thinking of getting this phone as my new phone, is it good or should i get something else?

@brook8e Hey it's true that you need to recharge the battery every night, but it's not as annoying as you'd think. As a first phone its alright, if you have a little more money go with a higher end android phone. However the keyboard is a nice feature on this phone .

@findmenowbitch Hey thanks! I got the rubber case at the telus store and i got another one at one of those booths in malls that sell cellphone cases. Unfortounately the last case was made for the lg ally and covered the speaker. The launcherpro is available on the android market for free its really easy to do.

Just got this phone today. Great review. I do however disagree with one of your comments on the phone. You said "one drawback was the heavy weight of the phone". I like my electronics to be a little on the heavy side,light stuff just feels cheap. My GF had one of those pink Blackberry flip abortions, couldn't even feel it in your hand, it was the lightest, hardest to use peice of crap I've ever encountered. After her second replacement phone she decided to go with the LG Banter, good choice too

I read on a Android forum that Telus will be skipping Froyo (2.2) for this phone and will start offering Gingerbread (2.3) in September. Here's hoping Telus will stick to their word this time =)

One piece of advice i would give would-be and recent purchasers of this phone is to upgrade the firmware over the net before sending messages. The out-of-box firmware release has a glitch that may send your texts to any randomly selected contact! This can be very dangerous to all you players out there lol

This is a great Android phone, I've had it for a month and thought it may not b an Iphone or a Galaxy it sure is a lot cheaper! Plus I will never forfeit the ability to type messages with a REAL keyboard for touch screen typing. But with this, u get the best of both worlds! Touch screen for menu and app navigation, and a great QWERTY board for messages! Thanks for the tip about the tape between the flash and lens =)

Hey this phone can do much more than the charm, because of its screen size, the resolution on this phone is 800 by 480 which is double the charm's poor resolution. For the size factor.. its not really big, however it is thick and slightly bulky but i have no problems in class because its much smaller than you'd think/ Hope that helped :)

The web browsing is suprisingly good when the page is fully loaded just know that it does not have flash 10.1 so it can't play some videos and pictures on the net.

The only carrier that has this phone is telus, if you live in Canada. In the United States they have a phone similar to this known as the lg ally from verizon. and yea i know how you feel, i was really excited to get this phone also!

Hi I just got the LG shine plus a week ago. It seems as though there is no audible reminder for when you get a text message and the indicator light only stays on when the screen is on. Do you know if there is any way to know if you have missed a text message notification besides constantly checking your phone?

uhh for the indicator light i don't know how to control it, but when you get a text message the sound should be on by default. If not then just go to settings and go to sound and display settings. Then go to notification ringtone and you can set it from there

4 questions first how are the widgets fast/ slow? Second how good is the messaging would you say harder then most touch or slide phones? Next how good are the head phones i know at the beginning you said it had a play and pause is it good quality for the headphones? Lastly do you have an recommendations for apps that should help. The widgets are pretty fast, however if you put too many and make a lot of home screens then it tends to lag.

I actually suggest using advance task killer (free in android market) to make the phone faster.

The messaging is amazing on this phone mainly due to the keyboard and I use Handcent SMS for messaging because the interface is really nice,

The earphones are the nicest ones i got with a phone and are really comfortable

I recomend zedge and dolphin browser

Basically you can turn on / off your wifi, bluetooth etc. very easily
