碁盤目状に整備されている北海道の街並みは実に整然としており、日本であって日本でないような不思議な感じがします。一度旅行で行ったきりですが、また訪れてみたいものです。

碁盤の目なのは札幌市の都心部くらいですよ。その札幌市は京都市をモデルにしてますし、その札幌市をモデルにしてる街がサハリンにあるというがそこには行ったことはない。
