Boy that sword sure looks "familiar." Ugh, definitely the worst joke comment I've ever written. Also, Holy Mail on an unholy male. Hmm, getting better at least.
The real problem with Soul Steal is that when you're trying to do it, you're normally surrounded by enemies and are lacking health...and the idea of doing the button combo slower just doesn't come to mind when you're panicking :P
Hey necro, I was considering buying a Castlevania game for the ds and I was wondering which one you would recommend. sorry I didn't message you, i'm on my phone and it won't let me.
By the way, Blade's sword goes right through you in this game without causing damage. I can't remember which game it actually hurts you in. It might be OoE, assuming that Blade's in that one. It's been a while since I played it, so I'm unsure.
As for the Combat Knife, I've never really cared much for it, because the only way to use it as effective as you'd use the Basilard is to hold your shield out as you attack with it, thanks to its awkward attack string.
I've honestly never been damaged by it. I've played the game on PlayStation, PSP and Saturn, and I've never been damaged by that blade that it throws.
The stomp is really useful, and I tend to use it a lot in any Metroidvania game that offers it. That's why I can't stand to play as Charlotte in PoR, though, because she - for some reason - can't do it.
Nice to hear that Soul Steal's working out better for you. I dunno why it works so much better whenever you do it slowly, because it's not as though it doesn't work some of the time when you do it quickly.
That stomp is indeed useful. If you're willing to backtrack to the point where you can go up and get the Holy Mail, you can actually get up there by head-stomping a bat and then double jumping up into the hole in the ceiling. Good way to get it earlier than you could providing you don't mind backtracking some.
You can stomp once from a wolf morph, as well. I use that to get to Olrox's Quarters early, as well as to get into the upper area of the library earlier. (You can stomp off of those book enemies to get onto the ledge with that Corpseweed on it.)
I wish SOTN explained the items it gives you a little better. I had no clue what the skill of Wolf did.

It explains it just fine, if you care to bother going into the relics screen and looking

Sorry but saying "run swiftly as wolf" and "special attack as wolf" didn't quite explain how to perform said abilities.

Oops...I was referring to when Blade THROWS his sword. That's when it doesn't hurt you.
By the way, I haven't noticed you using bat form's Wing Smash. Do you not tend to use it at all?
kubevubin 2 years ago
the dagger the blade throws DOES damage u, but u have to be infront of the blade, a few feet back. its like a final move before it dies.

Plus, the stomp works very well on Dracula. XD

its because if u do it too fast, sometimes a few of the buttons dont register. dong it slowly makes sureall buttons do register.
