The fact is you can be busted for driving under the influence of pot, just as easy as alcohol. Under the influence means impaired. Course, when you get busted for alcohol its most likely because you were driving 100 mph. For pot its because you stopped on the freeway for a nap.
I don't think it was Led Zepellin who sued to pull this song; I heard it was Atlantic Records, who owned the American distribution rights to all LZ music that had it pulled. What a shame. A truly wonderful cover and a brilliant parody.
Bob Denver actually wrote Stairway to heaven. (true story) He was high with Jimmy Page and Dawn Wells in Seattle. Dawn showed Jimmy the chord progression and Bob sang it kind of out of key Jimmy said in an interview in 1979.
your full of shit roger plant wrote 90% of the song on the spot in front of a fire with people around him. originally played on piano he then converted it to guitar
See the US Supreme Court case of Acuff v. 2 Live Crew - parody is at the core of the first amendment and is protected (they sang "Oh Big Hairy Woman" to the tune of "Oh Pretty Woman).
That rock band - is that "The Mosquitoes"? I've had dreams of "Gilligan's Island" over the years. I've been at the port-harbour which "The Minnow" departed from; overhearing Ginger say to Mr. Howell Mary-ann,and the Professor that "we're going to milk this for all that this is worth" [the full financial value] ,whilst an operator of a boat similar to the Minnow can be seen by me trying to negotiate the breaking waves in torrid waters, meters from me and the Gilligan cast. Lovely, sweet dreams!
a cool version of the theme song. Too bad Led Zeppelin didn't have a sense of humor and sued to get the song off the airwaves. I think Jack Black might of got his singing style from this song?
@rocketcarmike : Does humour really belong in music? I remember this - Page got his knickers in royal twist and sued the band for some stupid amount. Ass.
@TomMinderson well before you open your mouth, you may want to know what you're talking about. this was done many years ago, years before you or any of the rest of us even dreamed of a web.
I forgot this existed! Thanks for posting! I had this recording in the 80's Thanks again!

There was a band from NY named The Jimmie Carter Show that came out with this
version back in the late 70's. They also took shots at Outer Limits and the Twilight
Zone..blew my mind when I first listened to it

Clever piece of music, this. The sourpusses who sued need to lighten up, for crying on an island.

You might want to credit Little Roger and the Goosebumps for the song ("Stairway to Gilligan's Island").

The Banb is Little Roger & The Goose Bumps.
The producer is Kenny Laguna in 1976, better known for producing Joan Jett.
It appears on his compliation CD of his various productions called "Laguna Tunes" on Blackheart Records.
It is not presently in issue, but Amazon list sellers who have it used.

No Led Zepplien's management (Peter Grant) did after was getting regional airplay on the West Coast.
Was once reported that Robert Plant was trying to obtain a copy.

Ginger was sensuous but Mary Ann was reachable. Good Lord how HOT was Mary Ann!! She & Ginger both looked good dancing.

...uh? This was recorded in 1978 by Little Roger And The Goosebumps. And promptly yanked from shelves due to Led Zepplin's legal department.
