how much publicity would he get, how often would espn compare him to wilt and monogamist the best ever before he plays like they do with the players today.
what kind of shoe deals would he get? Lebron got $80 mill out of high school dominating a bunch of catholic shit teams
@spidarz Whatever. Like you wouldn't have done the same thing?
He's so much of a joke that after 3 straight championships and Finals MVP, the NBA had to change it's rules to allow zone defenses because he couldn't be stopped guarding him 1:1 and defensive 3 second violations because he clogged the lane preventing opponents from scoring. Just another hater popping off at the mouth.
Dick Vitale was right on with his assessment of Shaq as being the next NBA Superstar. I mean the guy is a hall of famer, four-time NBA Champion, three-time NBA Finals MVP, League MVP, and a scholar to boot. He came to LSU at age 17 and made a huge impact. Shaq is the MAN!
@jbobbster True, but you got to admit, he didn't really go out on a limb. If you followed LSU back then as I did, you saw how dominant Shaq was. Opponents would triple/quadruple team with zone defenses and he'd still get a double/double every game. It didn't take a basketball genius, like Mr. Vitale, to know Shaq was going to be a superstar in the NBA.
@pappppie You are right man.....he was the closest thing to Wilt to being unstoppable and changing the rules but Wilt had the actual court dimensions changed when they had to widen the lane because his width eliminated the 3 second rule.......Jordan was the greatest overall player but these two were at times physically unguardable....special players indeed.
Hmm... I can't seem to find the highlight where Shaq had a breakaway Dunk and started dancing... the Cabbage patch lol. I think it was v. Arizona and I want to say he had a triple double, but not sure about that.
He and Chris Jackson AKA Mahmad (muhammad) Abdul Rauf were a nice combo.
Few things about this game, Arizona was #1 in some poll during this game. Also this was the game that made Shaq #1 Draft Pick any year he wanted to leave school. I loved the design of the basketball court and Keith Jackson announcing college basketball is great also.
imagine a guy in college doing this today?
