  • WOAH! I just read the book and was randomly searching for YouTube vids about it and get half-way through this and see Kenji! I wasn't expecting to see someone I knew in it. lol.

  • I'm from Toledo too, so I forgive the fact that you guys couldn't wear the proper clothing described in the books. ;) Haha, the weather is shit over here.

  • sooooo...bad

  • I liked it :) And Takumi XD hahaha I sort of pictured him like the guy in this trailer, I swear.

  • If you look on IMDB it says they are making this into a movie for 2013 but no cast or director yet.

  • @crazygirl1352 No John set it up so nerdfighters could discuss it

  • @Jammydodgereater ok thanks

  • asian osmosis jones at 1:10

  • TOLEDOOO!!!!! ahahah (:

  • dude who played miles? dont wear jeans. you look like a pedophile.

  • treerriibbblllleeeee

  • this is ok but there not even wearing the right clothes..

  • This was just... awkward. Sorry. The lines just doesn't come natural.

  • they say their lines too fast

  • I know Paramount own the filmrights to Looking for Alaska but I wish they'd just got on and made the movie. (Actually I'd love to do my own version of it if I could). That's deffo a movie I would go see. It's one of my favorite books.

  • I'm really happy they're haven't made Looking For Alaska into a film. I hope they never do.

  • @cerg09 there is one in production

  • if they do m,ake a movie hollywood would find a way to mess it up

  • As long as the bj scene isn't pron in the movie, I'm 100% for it.

    Amazing trailer, you guys.

  • I still don't know why the hell sarah palin came up when i searched this

  • i really hope they dont have famous people for Paper Towns! that would annoy me so much! i want them to all be nobodies! that way i can try out lol

  • good try but fail

  • John Green said there is something wonderful about a book that stays a book. He said he would be find if it was forever on it's own, a book.

I think I'm okay with that.

  • where's the colonel

  • Toledo sweatshirt?

    Toledo, Ohio perhaps?

    Thats where I live. :D

  • i just read up to alaskas death last night it makes me want to dierect one with my friends

  • @dav956able SHHHHHHHHHHH don't give it away!

  • @thelovelybandgeek GORSH IM SORRY

  • Reading the book now. So there's gonna be a movie?

  • @Brygelsmack they are in the process. if you go to johns youtube vlogbrothers he talks about it(:

  • @Brygelsmack We hope. It's been ages since the movie rights were bought.

  • Really good trailer. I had chills. The editing was great, and I loved the choice of quotes from the book. The voiceover was well-written and I liked the voice. My only problem with the trailer was the acting. It just wasn't very good.

  • Lol @ Takumi.

  • a real movie is supposed to be coming out in 2013. im so excited for it :) its on IMDB

  • Good trailer, except for the acting

  • This is really cute. Well done. :)

  • like people said, the acting could've used some work, but the trailer was really well made. good job guys!

  • phrase

  • I finished the book today! it was a great book but i got really depressed because it made me think of when my mom passed away just a few months ago :(

  • no no no i hope they dont make a bloogy movie of this fantastic book. they always ruin it ! always! look at twilight!

  • @beXnicola Yeah, except for that Twilight wasn't a good book in the first place.

  • @paulmccartneyrocks twilight wasnt as good as looking for alaska by faaaaar but it was actually good just way over hyped thats all

  • This was great!

  • Ayyye toledo rockets! Woot!

I loved looking for Alaska:) awesome book

  • I loved this :) Just finished the book today and can't stop thinking about it!

  • stop hating guys. this takes a lot of work. good job :)

  • This was really tacky... But I love it for that. lmaooo.

  • @xNiceyNicey Beauty in the Breakdown by the Scene Aesthetic.

  • Hah this was cool

  • i love the book, and the trailer is pretty good too =) well done!

  • alaska had the wrong hair... (i know it isn't mentioned in the book but not brown not curly)

  • @kaak1212 I think it is mentioned at one point...

  • @smilelaughgrin well i re read it (the part where he first saw her) and i didn't see anything about her hair but it could have been mentioned later on... i immanges it to be like a bleech blondish with a brown/black underneeth.

  • @kaak1212 that is a fairly correct hair color. When the boys go to the funeral she is in a mahogany coffin which Pudge expresses (through thought) is the same color of her hair

  • if they didn't rush through their lines, it wouldn't be as mediocre. No offense, though it was kinda cute to see. :P

  • lol, this is so cheesy, but at the same time, i could see this as a disney channel feature xD

  • lol this is cheesey xD but good. i like it

  • Not bad. Bit cheesey, but an entertaining lead.

  • the school this book is about is indian springs

  • Wow. The acting is atrocious. I couldn't bring myself to watch the entire thing.

  • I dont like the actors but i heard the movie for the book is in development and may come out in 2013

  • John Green wrote a contract with some producers and there is, in fact, a movie coming out on the book.

  • this book was beautiful different story

  • i think this is made of awsome, gr8 job, wish there was an actual film. The book was life changing

  • I WANT THEM TO MAKE A REAL MOVIE.. OF LOOKING FOR ALASKA.

  • @Emmkaatieee looking for alaska the movie is coming out in 2013. john green has nothing to do with the production of it and the name has been changed to "famous last words" for copyright reasons. i saw an interview with john and he said something like "it wont be a disaster if the movie doesnt come out" and has repeated that it wont be good. lol :) well anyways thats all ive heard but im still gonna see it!!!

  • @Emmkaatieee They... ARE!

  • @Emmkaatieee They are. If you go on John Green's youtube Page vlogbrothers he tells you they are in the process and he's doing the screenwrite(:

  • Bad acting...

  • This was really good:) I just finished the book. Like literally 10 minutes ago. XD It. Was. Amazing. But in parts I did feel the need to cry my eyes out. .-.

  • @Sophied4545 I can honestly say this book made me choke at times, not necessarily cry, but i did choke.

  • Amazingly well done! Props...

  • anybody know where i can get some free pdfs of an abundance of katherines or/and paper towns? im low on money and desperate to read those after reading looking for alaska yesterday, which was amazing.

  • @danielkay1994 There should be a library near you, its free to rent a book.

  • @danielkay1994 read paper towns. its so much better than an abundance of katherine. then will grayson, will grayson. but do u not have a library near you?

  • @makeorbreakgirlz yeah i read an abundance and didn't like it nearly as much as looking for alaska. i live in a little seaside town in england, so my local libary is pretty shite.

  • The girl in the video is how I imagined Lara to look like.

  • @VViLLFilms yea Lara, not Alaska though.

  • This actually wasn't bad. And whoever played Miles/Pudge was pretty cute.

  • that was really good!

  • I feel the movie should be R

they need to have all the scandalous stuff like the smoking, alcohol, the blowjob scene, etc... and in order for that it would have to be R.

    Oh and they better have

    "I'm the fucking fox."

  • @iforget5 I think that whoever makes (Is making?) the movie could fit all that in to a pg-13 rating fine. The whole blow-job scene could be tastefully done, like Neil Burger did in "The Illusionist". Unless you actually want to see the whole thing... Then, yes, it would have to be R.

Also, looking at it from a producer's point, making it R would block out the leading demographic of John Green readers.

  • @zucizzle i was more of looking towards the dialogue.

  • @iforget5 Amen to that quote :)

  • @iforget5 You can't catch the motherfucking fox :D

  • @iforget5 "who do you have a fox hat?"

"because no one can catch the fucking fox"

  • @evanlava "no one can catch the motherfucking fox"

  • @iforget5 NO ONE CAN CATCH THE MOTHER FUCKING FOX

  • @iforget5 well it would be rubbish without the blowjob scene ;)

  • @iforget5 It had better be an R, otherwise they'd cut out all of that stuff, and then it would be shit.

  • pretty good. I LOVE Looking for Alaska so much, I can't wait until it actually comes out as a movie.

  • god I wish that trailer was real

  • What's the song at the end?

  • @Glympse2k7

beauty in the breakdown by the scene aesthetic.

  • Good Trailer!

BTW in 1:14 is that the Colonel, or Takumi?

  • what is the name of the last song you used ? I liked it.

  • this is great video

  • Recast everyone. No one seemed to fit their roles properly. I feel like it should be more dark and tense.

Music wasn't bad. Visuals were good.

  • you probably should have done a few more takes, when you were laughing and stuff. but awesome job. Perfect representation of the book. and nice music choice

  • what is the song at the very end?

  • horrible acting but the scene aesthetic and looking for alaska <3

  • I respect you.

Pretty good job on the video for quite possibly the greatest book i've ever read.

  • pretty good trailer. I love this book man I cried so hard the first time I read it then read it three more times after that, it went straight to the top of my fave books, surpassing a book that has been my favorite for 9 years lol.

  • That was pretty good!!! It should have been a bit darker, though.......the guy that played Miles looked EXACTLY how I pictured Miles......weird......

  • I've read this book several times, and I've cried every time.

"God oh god, I'm so sorry" - Alaska Young

  • I feel like it shouldve been more... morbid. Other than that, great!

  • Isnt Jordan Gordon Levitt going to be starred in the real movie?

It comes out in 2013 though :(

  • this was really good actually :)

Like a lot better than some I've seen

  • Nice. Now I want to try.

  • Haha, that was pretty cute. My favorite- aside from the end- was when they were on the swings. =] The music just MADE that scene.

Maybe not top notch acting, but it was pretty cool.

  • Really good, well done :)

  • Really good, well done :)

  • E X C E L L E N T !!! This book is so damn moving

  • Very good. XD

  • @steveburnside88

it said her hair was mahogany, which is reddish-brown

  • I actually really liked this. I mean it could use many improvements, especially with the acting. but I love the ending part.

  • good storyline for it, but the acting wasn't very good.

  • This seems like you put a lot of thought into it. Good job.

  • I really liked it. What were the songs used?

  • great job, it's perfect for the book.

  • I read the book in 2 hours today while I had a headache. Good book.

  • Alaska's a blonde! =|

    Ehh, 4 0f 10.

  • @Dom57575757 alska's hair is mahogony. jeez

  • for an amature video that was damn good. In fact, it was just damn good. I LOVED IT !!

  • that wasnt half bad... a little rushed tho

  • this was AMAZING`

  • aww, miles actually looks like how i pictured him (:

  • This is really good and i liked it.

  • This is really well done =) You must have put a lot of work into this. Beautiful =3

  • Miles in this video is really cute. (:

  • in the book he gets a blow *** by a rusian

  • I thought she was Austrian.

  • She was ROMANIAN!!!!!!

  • Actually he got a blow job from a Romanian.

  • I loved It! It is My favorite book and you did a great job!

  • I had to literally lol at the kid portraying Takumi.

  • i love the book =)

  • This would be really good if the acting was better.

  • looking for alaska is the best book ever written. and i think that was pretty fantastic.

  • is there really a video about this book?? if there is can somebody tell me if it exists or not cuz i really liked the bood

  • Very nice and well-put together. I like the use of narration. But, nit-picky though I am, I'm just gonna say that the lines were a little rushed, and quite obviously the lines of a book, as opposed to the way real people would say them in casual conversation, y'know? Other than that, cute. Ending scene was beautifully put-together.

  • wow, the dude that was playing Pudge looked like my friend Beau.

  • my favorite book ever, nice job! what was the music you used? ❀

  • Crazier - Taylor Swift and Beauty in the Breakdown - the Scene Aesthetic. I love both songs. :)

  • lol this was actually a pretty good random trailer.

  • this is the greatest book ever!!!

  • lol the scence aesthetic??!!! loool

  • oooh, what music did you use?

  • this book was tight

  • Nope... this is definitely NOT the real trailer!

  • Im reading the book now it awesome i love it so much

  • Gave me goosebumps. Love it.

  • I read that book several times because it was so great.

  • that was seriously good!

a great interpretation of one of my all time favorite books.

i especially loved the beginning, with the close up on the fail party.

really my only complaint was the lack of the Colonel.
