Hi, i had the same car model and engine in my rolla. It's a tough work horse but lately it has been smokin' blue.. Wonder if you could post photos and steps in blogs on rebuilding this engine? Thanks.

I had no problems, well remember how disassemble. Photograph each piece when you separate, it can help later.

well i bought a new headgasket for my 2e engine in starlet and still had same problem turns out it was a faulty rad cap now it works perfect lol

i dont think that the 2e had to be rebuilt,just a swap for a 4a-ge would be fine
