This synth looks brain achingly complicated to use. This is a very atmospheric and beautiful piece which could easily be used as an opening theme for one of those dramas like Wallender or Silent Witness!
Motif and Andromeda go very well together I really like your track.... Been thinking about buying a workstation friend for my Andromeda to do 'all the other stuff'. Have you checked out Kronos at all?
@TheZombieHolocaust I am drooling over it as we speak, but alas , got no more money to spare. There is no doubt KRONOS is huge in capabilities, the only thing it concerns me is how immediate it is . What I love about motif is that I can in 1 second creating music , its that immediate , like andromeda. And because I love to make music in one go , real time, I hope that KRONOS can be as immediate and easy to use. IF it is , then its a matter of time to buy it.
@thekilon yea Ive been look through so many synths to complete the picture after getting my A6 - I am so covered for analog sounds that I eventually thought a workstation for the rest. LOVE the Oasys HD-1 sounds so was thinking of Kronos as the next generation Oasys but with better pianos. Ive been looking into the Kronos apparently it has a shite sequencer unlike Motif -Im still going to demo a Motif, I love the realism in their acoustic sounds plus the motif is like you said so immediate.
@TheZombieHolocaust KRONOS shite sequencer? I think not. Never heard of KARMA ? You can do some insane things with it that could easily fill book about it. Motif is not perfect either, many people have been complaining about the interface, it can be abit confusing at time, but then whos perfect right ? But as I said never tried KRONOS in person. But then I have no issues sticking with my yamaha, bottom line is that you fully exploit the synths you got and not treat them only as preset machines.
@TheZombieHolocaust I am drooling over it as we speak, but alas , got no more money to spare. There is no doubt KRONOS is huge in capabilities, the only thing it concerns me is how immediate it is . What I love about motif is that I can in 1 second start creating music , its that immediate , like Andromeda. And because I love to make music in one go , real time, I hope that KRONOS can be as immediate and easy to use. IF it is , then its a matter of time for me to buy it.
I click on the video cuz I wanted to hear the andromeda sounds, and put my phone in my pocket put my earphones on, and,,, wait a minute thats a motif sound!!! And then I read the description and I was like yayyyy I can tell the sound of a motif now!!!!=)
@abmendoza1 glad you like my music. I love my motif , its the backbone of my music, it never fails to amaze me with how good it sounds. Its sad that workstations are so underated , they are extremely flexible , powerful synths that can sound as great as this analogue monster.
@dum0nde if you go to alesis website they are offering several sound banks . I prefer making my own sounds by editingt the presets. Sometimes I sample Andromeda and send it to my Camel Audio Alchemy VST for further heavy editing. I have made around 20 sounds on my Andromed from scratch and must have edited around 100 presets. Not bad if you consider how low my free time really is.
@hdebbache2000 nver listened to the soundtrack or played the game, but thanks for the recommendation, I will take a listen and see how much they copied me ;)
@hdebbache2000 dont u love when games have great music! i literally found some presets on my old rackmount roland JV1080 and i knew right away it was used in the first halo game. i had chills up my spine lol
The Andromeda is a dream machine but the artist is the one making it "sing". This is a creative and artistic composition that really shows off the synthesizer. Kudos to the artist. - Sam
i have an A6,a virus TI2,an Arturia Origin,a Korg Z1,a Korg M3 and a Korg Wavestation EX and... the A6 is my favourit!! And very good music man,i love it...
Do you thing the A6 will last 25 years with no major problems ? Did Alesis cost cut on these ? will parts be readilly available in 25 years ? ...that concerns me and is holding me back from buying one....
Thank you friend... no I see no reason to sell blofeld. ITs a great synth and could serve like a good polyphony expander to andromeda or stand on its own.
But for the time being I do not see using it much , before I understand Andromeda. After that I will use it together wiht blofeld and motif.
But no , I love my blofeld and its a great synth even when compared to andromeda.
The first sound that comes in makes me think of the Jupiter 8.
I like to remind myself when listenting to your track that what's beautiful here is really your composition not so much the synth used.. ;-) .. you know what mean..
I know what you mean. But the tools are usually the ones that motivate me to make music. So if I did not had tools that made music making fun, you would not listeting to any of my music.
And that is what andromeda did for me, gave me one more reason to make music. If you removed my hardware and left me only with software then I would not made any music.
So for me at least and my music tools are extremely important. Much more important than my skill.
Yeah buying new synth is alot of fun and inspiration, unfortunately I cannot affod it. I already paid only more than half of the asking price of andromeda, so I need to pay 800 euros more now.
I dont think I will be buying a new synth in the next 3-5 years. So for the time being it will be just me , my motif , my blofeld and andromeda.
I dont think I will be able to afford anything else then next 5 years. And quite frankly I feel rather complete right now.
@timtico congratulations timtico... Well I bought andromeda so that it occupies my time for at least the next 5 years. Its not enough to buy great gear, one must also learn to use them to their full potential.
All this stuff was brought during many years and i didnt have them all at the same time.. I had maximum 11synths at the same time! wich is rather to much..
At the time I thought that to have as many colors as possible could afford, would be a good thing when in fact it did the opposit..
to much choice, to many options, to much time spent learning new synths blocked the creativity process in the end ,-)
Very good work. Nice equipment. Thats music that i like... no happy hippo tunes. Check out my songs played with Waldorf Blofeld, Korg R3 and Ymaha CS1x.
I love Prophet 08 sound and presets. But it has 2 layer while andromeda has 16, it has 8 polyphony while andromeda has 16, and generally it has alot less features while it costs only 200 euros less than an Andromeda.
I wanted a super powerful synth and Andromeda won hands down.
Actually I never truly considered prophet seriously. My second option was Virus. But I wanted analogue so... here I am.
It completely replaces Blofeld and goes way beyond it. Its presets suck though. Oh well ...
I see your point. I also consider the Prophet a lot less intriguing for its price.
Are all the voices ok on your Andromeda? AFAIK there are some current issues concerning quality control so there's a pretty high chance of getting a faulty A6.
Sounds awesome mate! Thanks for sharing this. The Andromeda is standing on my wishlist for quite a long time. Maybe it's time to actually buy one in the future :)
thank you george... I still a baby when it come to andromeda.... i fear it will take a very long time till I feel confident with it... but that is its appeal and challange

Hey man, I dont know if I last 25 years... lol. 25 year is just a very loooong time.
If you ask me about the build quality of Andromeda, yes this is the best built synth I have laid my hands on. It look more solid than my Yamah Motif.
No I dont think part wills be available easily, this is a rare unique synth, targeting a very specific market.
If you look for a safe purchase look away from andromeda, but if you look for the best purchase that money can buy , you cannot do any better .
thekilon 1 year ago
Part 2
Yes alesis cut the cost in this hugely. It used to Cost 3200 euros and now costs 2000 euros , thats almost half the price!!!
Thing is , that there substantial rumours that Andromed was discontinued,a week ago, I dont know if its true, but if you want to buy it hurry.
This synth is amazing, it packs an enormous amount of power and still cant believe its pure analogue.
Cant recommend it enough.

yeah this kept from buying andromeda earlier... Voices have no problem at all.
Bare in mind that my Andromeda is new not used , new ones do not have the problems that some past batches had, only some common bug problem.
Personally I have not found any problem yet. And I pray for this to continue.
