What a pain in the ass achievement.

I tried this for about 20 minutes, got frustrated, went to download Netlimiter (so I could basically lag out and run over all the mines at once in a big lag spike) then I decided, as a long shot, to run across it on my ground mount and... hola! I got the achievement.

Ok I take that back, just did it!!!! Its impossible on foot, but if you do it on your horse its much easier with higher server latency. Good luck folks. Finally its over. :)

I agree its impossible, been trying it for weeks, you take fall damage before you can step on the next mine, Im gona throw mine out the window too.

As of patch 4.0.6 this is the only way to do it now. The goblins installed Turrets now that will shoot down any flying mounts. Thanks for the video, it only took 20 mins and some healing potions and bandages but it CAN be done this way!! TYVM

this is anyoing as hell... with +120 ping it impossible, even if you land in the middle of the mines, you first take the falling damage and after that those mines explode...

@GrassHarmonyShaymin Nice tip! Im sure others will appreciate that trying to reach the center for the quest. Its funny, theres a Night Elf in my vid who seems to have found a path as well. Confirmed, this IS possible by jumping as soon as you hit the ground, took me 15 consecutive jumps but if you can heal or get a friend to heal then just keep jumping repeatedly. Also make sure noone else is trying or they'll blow up potential landing targets for you

I only needed one try really easy but i guess it was because i was a rogue too

but yeah i dont think it was a problem to actually find mines that are close by

they are all over the place easy thank to be a rogue =P

@re1gn1te Server lag makes that impossible. There's 2 - 3 seconds where you can run around and find another cluster.

So...yeah. I was flying on my Celestial Mount...flew across the ground: accidentally blew off a mine.  I didn't get knocked off the mount...so I started thinkin' : Hmmm....what happens if I just fly around a bit...

...the mount would get 'knocked back' a bit...but never a dismount. About twenty seconds of that...and you've got yourself Minesweeper! XD

when i did this quest i did the achievment first time. also had my mate with me and we spent like half an hour in there with him healing me and him whilst flying through the air... argh fun times

yeh, rogues kick ass! but prot pallys are rly uber but if your looking to do some rly fast and good dmg i prefer a rogue + they are a rly fun class to play : D (they only get fun after lvl 20)

Can't fix latency problems if I live in Austrlaia. Go Blizzard! Anyway, managed to do it by using a program called NetLimiter. I used it to lower the bandwith given to WoW to 1b/s so when I ran over the mines they didnt explode at all. Changed NetLimiter back to default settings. I got disconnected, logged back in and wallah! I had the achievment! Although I was dead... Yay for 78g repair bills!

I love how you took pretty much no damage when falling. My hunter takes 6k damage every time he hits the ground and it takes about 3 seconds for the mines to blow up. This achieve is fucking bullshit. That is all.

Sounds like you have a bit of latency problems if the bombs are taking 3sec to explode. The amount of damage you take depends on your gear too. My Rogue was geared for Naxx at the time this was done. Try to resolve your latency issues if you can and keep trying, you'll Get it. =)

It depends on the achivement. Simple fun ones like this you'll just be rewarded with 10 Achievement points and the fact you accomplished it. Others that are more challenging or time consuming might reward you with a pet, mount, novelty item or a Title.

Reason why you are getting knocked down by the cannons is because you are probably on the loaner flying mount. That or you are still on the quest to reach the npc in the center.

How did you get the achievement you touched the ground?

Touching the ground doesnt reset the mine count. You have about 4 seconds to set off another mine after one goes off. On avg you are in the air for 2-3 seconds, so that leaves you with 1-2 seconds to set another mine off. A little luck in landing does play a part in this achievment so it may take you a few tries. Spotting a mine in the air and running to it just as you land does help your chances. Good Luck, Keep trying youll get it! =)
