the HDMA is loading the layer 1 tiles from the current screen and the screen before that (which doesn't exist). Because the screen doesn't exist, it loads the leftover layer 1 tiles from the VRAM on the screen. Maybe making mario spawn 1 screen ahead will fix it.
I'm not sure though. I concluded this by solely looking at the video alone so my solution may not be correct. Still, you should give Mario different entrances and see what happens,
No. It doesn't work. Those glicthed tiles are still there.
