Im planing on dropping a supercharged 3.8 in my 99 z24 is it alot of work and do you need to change the computer and the wiring harness

dont know much about motors, but im getting a 99 z24 this week. automatic... what would be the best motor to put in it thats affordable??? affordable as in a little cheaper than most...??

havent been to track, have raced my buddies svx 650 suzuki, dead even from a 10mph roll up to 140,  and g tech told me 12.32, not really sure what it can do, but i cant even get out the gate on it at all till round 20-30. sounds like u got that prob there! im doing a caviler build next, cant get title now for my monte, so if u know any1 that needs parts for blk, on blk, 96 z, let me know

i got a 96 monte z with series 2 sup n pulley, exhst, injectors, pcm, other minor things, it seems to pull alot harder than that, n my cars heavy??? whats the deal, he babying it????

Yes, I hit the right reply. First of all, a Monte is roughly 3,300lbs. That cavalier with a 3800 is roughly around 2,800lbs. Chances are this engine is a stock 3800. It being only 500 lbs less, and your car having the mods that you say it "has" wouldn't you think your car would pull harder? Also, It's pretty damn hard to tell how hard a car "pulls" from a shitty camera.. at night.

WELL first I drove a l67 swapped monte every single day, to work, to school, to the studio, every single day, you pick up on stuff, and yes my car "has" been built up, second, my sister has a ssei, that is mainly stock save for exhaust, pcm, ported heads, and a stock rebuild, and third my girl has a gtp, so i think im entitled to say i dont think the thing is running that hard~

Plus I have been racing cars at bir for years, and unknown reg. races` I can tell how a car pulls, im not a moron like everyone else that talks shit for no reason , uhumm, + in a stock motor anything l67 it shifts outta 1st at50- 55 ~ should we all count ???? now whats your point and talking all this that you have been, cause you felt you just HAD to put your two cents in where it didnt matter` yeah

What kind of power are you pushing, with the supercharger?.. Nice sound

if its the GM supercharger, then probably about 50HP, give or take a few HP depending on which engine its running. If it's not the GM kit, then i don't know.

It's probably the GM 3800 with the eaton M90 genIII s/c. This is how they came from GM, he did not have to add anything, just swap. But if he knows about cars, which he does, then it has a smaller s/c pulley and is probably putting out more than 50hp from the s/c

yea, i totally posted that before i found out he swapped the engine. I thought that it was still the 2.4 twincam in there lol... the super charger for the twincam gives out about 50 hp. but a 3800 sc? yea... lol, that gives way more than 50
