saw the cropdusters at a festival in sunny blandford in the late 80's....was frickin excellent....great energy in a very hot marquee if memory serves...lookin forward to the kyps gig!! :O) best wishes to all the band!
TheraptorXX, thanks Matey. Beleive it or not (and I understand the responsibility) but you guys were responsible for my current tastes in music, and my rather curious dancing techniques! All these years later, I just want to say Thanks for great times! You guys were stars!
Blandford music festival late 1980's our band SUSPECT DEVICE played on the same bill. Still think you are brilliant an amazing afternoon. Brill You tube footage..
I wish we fucking HAD gone pro! Lost touch? more likely that was from the copious amount of irresponsible outburst we indulged our punished minds and bodies to
paul from extec audio,3k rig remember the one outside on the other side of lymington, it was so loud you could hear it up the high street, saw you in the field behind compass inn, but had to go, will
Well, Cob died about three years ago of a heart attack, I'm up in Shropshire, me brother's in Manchester, Shaun and Rog are still in Lymo and Mike Case is somewhere thereabouts...
One of the best performances I've seen in the late 80's as their sound was so intoxicating you could not get them of the stage.I miss those Mean Fiddler gigs.
I think I may have been DJ-ing that night too...The Nightrider Roadshow disco as we were called in those days!....did you also support New Model Army sometime?
Changed my fu***** life, Southern Life !!!!!!!! Put us New Foresters on the map. If any Dusters are reading this ...... thanks for the great times, travelled all over in late eighties to see you.
Brilliant stuff marcus ,nice one for posting these up on here really enjoyed listening to them again , hope you and krishna are well and the rest of the family . i see the others are still gigging a bit , this was prob the best line up . x MAGSY.
Still have a vinyl of the Dusters sadly no decks though. Used to have a tape too. Left it in the car and some bastard stole it and the car wankers! "Laserbeam in my dreams!" Still rattles through my head, I really miss that tape anyone know where I can buy their music! & is it true Woolworths signed them up way back?
Saw them at endorse-it in Dorset Brilliant!! thanks! Had to laugh when young lady next to me said "They're a Pronghorn Rip off!"
went to cobfest.fuckin brill.saw loads of people i haven't seen 4 years.trying to get the albums, managed 2 find sober/heaven,got a dutch website advertising home grown but out of stock.any ideas?
I am surprised. I was expecting to see you there tbh, though I guessed that it was because you dont live round here now do you? I think its a bit off if you werent even asked, I must say! I'm sure you'd have been welcome. I know Sharon would love to hear from you anytime
I AM one of the lads! Shaun, Mike and Roger plus a couple of others have ressurrected the Dusters and play around Lymo on occasion, I believe. Cob died of a heart attack a couple of years ago... Not heard the latest incarnation but the first was a hard act to follow, eh? I'm the one playin the gobiron on the above. Over and out
F*****G brilliant! I was a massive fan and saw the Dusters all around the south of England. We went to more than 20 gigs and there was never a bad one. I can almost smell the sweat and the beer! Anyone remember 'Spunker'?
Oh so, so happy to find this on YouTube. My brother and I travelled all over the place (mostly Dorset) watching the Dusters.. so many great gigs always left ecstatic... great times
sorry my mistake, musta been a tad mashed when i posted the above, should know better at me age an all! good to here yer still goin strong, will have to get along to one of yer gigs. cheers for the info
ha. i received a fantastic beating at a gig of yours in Hereford '89, 90ish. great gig, nasty beating. i was at college at the time though so was probably asking for it. even took 'if the sober go to heaven' to get signed. ah well.
Thanks for making me feel both old and young. Saw Cropdusters playing at Bournemouth Uni, or Dorset Institute as it was then. Not sure where the 20 years have gone. Thanks for a great trip down memory lane.
Superb stuff, first saw Cropdusters supporting TMTCH at Town And Country, must have been 1988 or so, saw them a few other times, can remember tiny place - Borderline or Break for the Border one Christmas and also The Levellers supporting the Cropdusters at Birmingham University. That's a shame about Cob, thought he was amazing on the fiddle.
Thnx a lot!Already comment earlier ,but now there are some new video's.Seen you in the 80's in Utrecht,Holland, and still enyoying your music!Greetings..
Thanks for this. I have some great memories of the 'dusters supporting TMTCH and I caught them the Marquee club back in the nineties. Brilliant band, where are they all now?
Its a pleasure! Most of 'em are still in Lymington. Cobert The Fiddler died of a heart attack earlier in the year(he was a good man) The drummer, me brother is in Manchester and I'm in Oswestry, Shropshire doing D.Y.F.C. (myspace). I'm the shaven one.
good memories of gigs at the Speckled Trout in New Milton in the late '80s, with copious amounts of speed and whiskey (",)
