I'm 99.9% sure that it is Allan Jones who recorded the song for the movie The Great Ziegfeld (1936), though it was "performed" by Dennis Morgan. Jones had a strong and distinctive voice and style, a easy comparison of the song from Ziegfeld. BTW, he was also the father of Jack Jones and in 2 of the Marx Brothers movies, Night at the Opera being the best.
