  • "What do you think, Jimmy? Brawl or babe?"

    "Brawl. Then a babe."

"Isn't it about time he got married?"

"You gotta go on a second date for that, Sarge."

I love the way they make Coop out to be the ultimate heterosexual male at the beginning. Not only does it make for a great twist but it also defies stereotypes. And it makes sense that Coop never went on a second date.

  • this just killed me bigtime ;-( ;-(

     Kirk..Montreal, Canada

  • Whenever I watch this episode, I always have this stupid sliver of hope that the end will change (even though it's obvious what's going to happen and I've watch it countless times before). Guh. It always breaks my heart though.

  • both jimmy and coop are very cute

  • Cries.

    My heart is breaking.

  • It made me cry... Love it.. And Jimmy is so handsome. Lol.

  • Love this epsiodes I was crying when they split coop and Jimmy .Also they really care about each other.

  • sad but amazing story line.. the ending make me cry a little..

  • Some of the best television ever written and acted.

  • If I were in this position, I would lose the will to live =/ oh me oh my good gracious! This is just so devastating but what a beautiful story.

  • we were the lucky ones </3 breaks my heart every time :(

  • Can you imagine hearing your friend dieing like that? After saying all that to him? Breaks my heart, I cry everytime! I miss Cold Case!

  • wow thats what i call love... we're the lucky ones ;[

  • IT REALLY PISS'S ME OFF HOW HOMOPHOBIC PEOPLE CAN BE GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • How come it always feels (like in "A Time To Hate" and in this) that the older generation (parents, like Coop's dad) seems to have this huge problem towards homosexuality, but the younger generation (children, like Coop here) is anxious to be a gay :( I think it's so incredibly sad that parents won't accept it, when their children want to be something special :,( And it seems to me that the younger generation always wants to live and make a better life than the older generation.

  • They are so adorable! They repeated this today and I was fine up until the line "We are the lucky ones." Then I started crying like a baby.

  • This was my fav episode of Cold Case.... it was so sad and beautiful at the same time!!!!

  • OMG my friend is the little boy in 0:16 and 1:08 !!!

  • I always cry when he says: " We were the lucky ones, don't forget that.".... it's so sad..

  • I cry everytime I see this episode. :-(

  • 'we were the lucky ones, dont forget that' that line made me cry x

  • So sad

  • There were so many great things about this episode! Not just the storyline, characters and acting - I've always loved the way it was shot in black and white with just the occasional bursts of colour, usually red. And what an inspired choice of song in My Back Pages!

  • They really were the lucky ones!

  • @djamal1992 yeah me too, I am just so touched by that. This one have such a powerful ending, this episode really shaken something up within me and im actually teary. but....did you forget "we're the lucky ones" yet? lol

  • I think the point was that Jimmy feels guilty that he wasn't with Coop and that he could've saved him had he been there, but in reality McCree would've just killed both of them.

  • This by far, was one of the best episodes and it was so sad at the end.

  • Sometimes love is blind.

  • After I'd place the fight in the locker room, the discussion between Jimmy and Coop about living another life together, the break up initiated by Jimmy and finally the teary ending.

  • Everything's alright until 5:13.Then I would place the baptism of the baby, then the talk between Coop and his father.Thirdly, the scene when Coop and Jimmy's wife are talking in the kitchen (cause if you really look at it you'll see it's an after party for the baptism and plus Coop and J's wife are wearing the exact same clothes as during the baptism).

  • You know I really like you for posting all the Jimmy and Coop moments.Thank you very much,I watch it again and again :D

However I think some scenes are not in order. Here's my thoughts:

  • CRYING. This is so sad D:

  • "We're the lucky ones. Don't forget that."

    "coop?! COOP?!"

me: NO!! *cries like stupid* D':

  • Love this show, never seen this episode though. But it still made me cry, really want to watch it now.

There's a strong message behind this episode & ending. Beautiful.

  • amo este capitulo llore mucho cuando lo vi

soy re fan de esta serie lastima que la cancelaron

  • I really cried! This is so sad!

  • 6:41-End = Crying my eyes out uncontrollably. Sadness :*(

  • really sad! made me cry... a lot!

    love this cap.

  • So sad !!! Makes me want to cry !!!!! Thanks

  • Omg that episode was sooo good! I love this show. I love the episodes that make you cry

  • No matter how hard i try not to cry i always end up crying anyway. it was an amazingly sad yet power episode.

  • @mrbandgeek2012 I was totally blown away when I saw this show when it aired. I and cried. The end is so, so sad and I felt the hell of regret.

  • Couldnt you just cry?

  • i never want to live with regret

  • Omg, another great episode, this was soo sad. I always said I dont wanna be in love, but what if I end up lonely? I hope my life doesnt become a tragic ending

  • Look at Sergeants face PAUSE at 6:57, he hated Coop........ You can see the hate in his eyes wow!!!

  • Forever Blue...wow so much hate and love for this episode.

  • Beatiful!!!

  • so sad, so beautiful

  • i never seen one like this befor where are the people at that they talk to and everything.???

  • this episode really hits home, i too lost my significant other to hate because we are different, i love how he said "we are the lucky ones" because i believe its true my parents have been married a very long time and they are complete strangers to each other but on the other hand my girlfriend and i were in love but some homophobe idiot too that away from me.... i love this episode very great job!!!

  • @RockabillyDoll. Hi. I'm sorry that you lost your true love. I agree with you - this episode was so powerfully touching and it really did hammer home the message that 'WE ARE THE LUCKY ONES". And I feel we truly are. It made me cry at the hatred that the two characters faced, which finally led to a tragic and upsetting conclusion.

  • thank you and it is the worst feelin to lose the one you truly love but im a huge believer in karma and that idiot will get his someday..but all i can do know is forgive and pray that this never happens to anyone else.

  • Hi, RockabillyDoll - Oh, I agree in Karma. And we have a saying in the UK and that is 'What goes around comes around' - and they will get it. I'm just sorry that so much unnecessary hurt gets caused by ignorant, out-of-touch-with-this century people.

  • yes karma is powerful...but some people will never learn or be open minded enough to accept other peoples lifestyles

  • Hi, RockabillyDoll. I agree with you there. Its just a shame because we're not exactly lousy people on the whole. Least we show more care and compassion which is something many of 'them' are obviously devoid of. :(

  • @IntellectualAmy that saying 'What goes around comes around' is world wide. I grew up with that saying(from Chicago). We also say "what you do comes back to you ten-fold". At the end of the episode the lieutenant was caught for what he did to Coop.

Off topic, the guy that played the Lieutenant also plays Kyle on V. When I watch V I keep thinking damn he looks familiar. Thats because I saw him on Cold Case. He's from the UK.

  • I agree this is such a sad and tragic story. Seemed to reach into my soul and burn the images in my psyche. Great writing, direcetion, esp the lighting and black & white with only the red color coming out of the darkness. Sad to believe that something so horribly tragic, and wrong could happen and happen within the police dept of a major city in america in 1968 (I was 6yrs old) is almost incomprehensible. Let's hope that time is far behind us and getting even further every day. Thanks

  • im crying so hard right now, also jimmy: what a fittie!

  • I keep coming back to watch this, and it hurts. But it's all I have of these two and I wonder what might have been.

  • I loved the phrase "We're the luccky ones" he's so right

  • omg this is so sad but beautiful ;(

  • The music leading up to Coop's death is great!

  • I don't even know this series or whatever it is, but...

this is soo sad... I'm totally bawling my eyes out...

And "We're the lucky ones"... it gives me shivers every time I hear it...

    Life shouldn't be this sad...

  • The Cold Case series basically is about a group of detectives that investigate unsolved cases, or otherwise known as a "Cold Case", as the trail to find the person responsible for the crime goes "cold".

I do agree with you, though. This was a warm-hearted episode that even moved a tough guy like myself to an emotional response.

  • it is a perfect love story, i feel lucky with my man after watching this so tragic

  • i am in tears now... i can't watch the ending of this without crying.

  • Gosh, this makes me cry so hard. Coop was such a great guy. I love that he wasn't afraid to be himself, and gosh, Jimmy, why'd you let him gooo? Ugh, so freakin sad. They are so beautiful together. I wish a story like this would have a happy ending. *cries some more*

  • I love Coop, and the way he stood up for himself and what he believed in.

I getting very weepy at the end of that video. So sad for Jimmy and the regret he must of felt for not telling Coop he loved him when he had the chance.

  • That song in the beginning reminds me in a nice way of another romantic scene from Dawson's Creek...

  • My Back Pages -- Dylan (Byrds version)

  • oh its Lex from Smallvile!

  • thats not micheal rosenbum/lex from smallville but it does look like him, he even acts like him a little bit

  • The father sent Coop to the bridge, where Coop was killed. So the father knew that Coop's boss killed him, but didn't report it to the police.

If you know who committed a murder and don't tell the police, you're an accessory after the fact.

  • 3.10 father:" No, you are my son.....you can't...you can't be a....we raised you right! "

Coop "that's nothing to do with you"

Father "you are not going to disgrace our family, the force...I though you were a man"

    Coop "I am"

Father " no you are not....and you are not my son either"

    made me cry.....poor Coop.

  • can some one post the full episode? It was up once but i can't find it anymore

  • 8:30 what is the song?

  • "My Back Pages" by the Byrds.

  • I just realized that coop and jimmy were filmed in black and white to symbolize how the world saw things in black and white. At the end when they are in color, it represents how the world had changed and how jimmy finally accepted who he was.

  • I never thought about that but it's a great analysis!

  • This is one of my favorite cold case episodes. It always breaks my heart when coop desperately tries to remind Jimmy that they're the lucky ones right before coop drives off to his death.

  • hey is Jimmy the guy from Priveledged, Will i think??

  • Yes, that's him. Brian Hallisay is his name in real life. He's 30 years old now.

  • this reminds me of sin city the rich black and white with the color red, this was a good episode, the ending was sad though

  • I cried at the end. Tragic

  • My dad might have been a real asshole sometimes. And even though he didn't like it when i came out(more like pushed out of the closet)i was still his son. And family look after their own.

  • what is the song in teh end?

  • Why is this in the wrong order? Wasn't this in the beginning of the episode?

  • Read the description.

  • Just today featured on Dutch tv: great acting.

    Touching episode.

  • "Sales?"

    "Sales? Yeah that's it."

I love when they're laughing together, they're so cute :)

  • T_T...my eyes are so teary that i can't even barely see what am i typing about now...

what'd happen if homophobic people watched this little sad clip...?

  • I cried every time i watch it.

    *sniff*

  • omg i got all emotional too don't worry. lol that was so flippin sad

  • I cried too. ;____;

    "we're the lucky ones"

  • Homophobia is disgusting, it's what's keeping people who just want to be happy absolutely miserable. And clouding everyone's mind with things that shouldn't matter.

  • well said, couldn't agree more

  • Thats so sad, why homophobia is such a bad. He ain't deserve to that. AAAAWW T^T

  • Oh fuck so much mistakes in my txt :''D lol

  • said* T____T

  • * < / 3

Btw I cried when Coop sayed "We're the luvky ones" when he was dying 8'<

  • Homophobia is so sick. </3

  • omg, this was awesome, I wish i had alove like this

  • Gimme a "Coop" in my life: a man that knows what he wants, fights for it, and is unapologetic about it. sigh.

  • I so agree with you I also wish I had a Coop in my life. Gotta love those dreamers

  • That was incredible!!!

    10 stars!

  • what does he say to Jimmy at 4:10 ? I can't hear/understand it at all!

  • He said keep an eye on those bathhouses, Jimmy. This is in reference to a derogatory comment he made earlier in the men's locker room about "fags." Coop got offended and shoved the guy against the wall. Jimmy pulled him off and then the cop got the idea something was going on between the two of them.

  • I'm surprised the cops never talked to the rookie (he's not even given a name).

  • Nice Execution..Story is Great!

  • what are coop and jimmy's real names?

  • This is totally irrelevent to the main point of the story but I just have to ask this. If McCree shot Coop, how the hell did he get to the bridge first?

  • In my opinion, it was all planned between McCree and Coop's dad. However, I think McCree was doing drugs on the side and viewed Coop as a threat to his street operation. His dad, on the other hand, was ashamed on his son and so was in on it as well. McCree took care of two problems, so to speak, as McCree sent Coop out to begin with.

Furthermore, it's possible that McCree thought Coop would be with Jimmy, but Jimmy decided to take out a rookie, so Coop was alone at the time. Flip a coin.

  • Had Jimmy and Coop both been together, which looks like something McCree had planned or wanted to go down, both of them would have been killed. It's ironic that Jimmy decided this particular night to take out a new rookie.

Regardless, this was a well done, but incredibly moving and deeply emotional ending to a very tragic story.

  • I agree with you 100% on both comments....... It was an obvious set up, there was no robbery going on...... That was McCree that fired those 2 rounds at coop right???

  • @BEASTIN021 Yes, McCree fired both rounds from the shotgun. He had been waiting by the bridge. My guess is that he expected both Coop and Jimmy to be together. He then could have taken out both of them. But, as we know, Coop was alone and became the target of McCree's rage.

  • When Coop says to his father "Quit looking at me that way Pop ... please."

    Yes, heartbreaking.

  • great. just great! :]

  • heartbreaking episode..gah

  • does anybody think that if coop had not died, jimmy would eventually be with coop?

  • i'm sure he would not have left his friend's behind!

  • I don't think there was anything "cute" about this episode; fear and ignorance which turns into hate, has made us monsters. If anything this episode is hopeful, in that justice sometimes prevails, and those who choose to love honestly, will always be "the lucky ones."

  • this was a cute eepisode

  • It was such a good episode. The ending was so heartbreaking. Beautifully done episode.

    Added it to my favorites.

  • thanks so much for posting this. i really loved it. it made me cry...

  • THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU!!! This is one of my top fave CC epis. I cry at the end when Coop gets shot and dies. :(

  • This is great! I really like the way you put all the scenes in order. It puts a new perspective on the episode. Good job!

  • this episode was SO CUTE!!! me and my friend cried at the end when we saw it!!! Go Jimmy/Coop!!!
