I was recently diagnosed with AIDS and I have been sort of fascinated with the "denialist movement" (people that believe HIV/AIDS isn't real and that people who accept that they have it are brainwashed zombies). If there's anyone who can have a sane, rational conversation about it, please contact me.
View the new documentary "House of Numbers" to see why questions about this must be raised and deeper issues about HIV and AIDS need to be discussed. Lives are at risk, and this is the first documentary with the worlds foremost authorities highlights the scientific problems with HIV testing, science, statistics, and why there is no cure. If sheds new light on a misunderstood phenomena. GO to houseofnumbers[doc]com to see the trailer.
i lived with hiv for 23 years and nearly died because i took azt and then combo therapy. HIV DOES NOT CAUSE AIDS! aids drugs do! google john hankins, karey stokely, lindsay nagel. they all survived because they started to asked questions about hiv! we are discriminated agains at work, family, some are locked up, have their children taken into custody, we are prevented from traveling and working in many countries. STOP THIS INJUSTICE! GOOGLE THE TRUTH! HIV DOES NOT CAUSE AIDS!
I have spent the past 9 months living with the idea that I might have HIV, yet putting off the test from fear. Last week i took the test and a coupe of hours ago I got the negative. I got the huge relief that I expected, and yet something remains. An uneasiness. I can't just forget this and get on with my life. I nearly got the virus through my own carelessness, not like these people, yet it is them that we turn a blind eye to. I deserve it more than they do, but I'm ok. I want to do something..
They are not innocent, the children who contract it are. Education about HIV is better known than ever in Africa, but its incredibly difficult to break cultural practices that are contributing to the spread. Polygamy is widely accepted in Africa, and women have very little rights so their husbands are often unfaithful. A monogamy campaign alone helped HIV rates drop dramatically in Uganda. It's spread the same way in every continent and nation, its not different in the US....

Procedure Prevents HIV/AIDS
Stallings et al. (2009) reported that, in Tanzanian women,
the risk of HIV among women who had undergone Female Circumcision
was roughly half that of women who had not; the association
remained significant after adjusting for region, household
wealth, age, lifetime partners, and union status.

We need more of these programs. Not a slippery slope to assume there will not be any senior citizens in sub-saharan Africa.
