I have to agree with you guys, ripstiks and wave bords are way better, but they have a maximum weight limit of 220lbs. If you weigh more than that then this is your best choice

I don't agree. I love the Whiptide. It's not about the tricks or grinding... it's about the ride! Noting beats the Whiptide for the smoothness, flexability or control! Bet my Whiptide would beat any skateboard for a distance run!

I have tried both Whiptide and Ripstick. Whiptide is much better because of the flexible neck. You can do more tricks and it is much easier to learn. Plus it has 4 inline wheels and the ripstick only has 2. I have put mine through a lot and it still rides awesome.

My daughter who is only 8 likes this one better because it has a little more control and it was easier for her to stay on. I think each one is a little different and has its benifits. I do agree that this not like a skateboard but the Whiptide is what helped me learn how to wakeboard last summer and able to get up on the first try :-)

I love to surf and the Whiptide is a great way to stay in shape and practice for surfing when the water is way too COLD!
