It might be that the Taco Bell in this world has all different styles of restaurants (from big expensive & classy, to smaller more ordinary joints). Since they're the only restaurant company left and have a total monopoly over the market, it's not like they have any competition to worry about.
@HamGreenandEggs It could've been satire, except I'm sure that the production studio cashed the checks that Taco Bell wrote. I also remember some really atrocious ads from TB back then, tying into this movie.
@gogeterdone Depending on the country version you're watching... Taco Bell may not have been franchised there when the movie was released. Hence they used a different product placement investor that was socially applicable to the release country.
So now all restaurants are taco bell.....or pizza hut..depending on which version of this movie you're watching! No way.
