  • i just loved this movie

  • She has a beautiful voice. The song sounds so magical, it's soothing...

  • trippy :o

  • Saw this movie not too long ago. Baffling story...

  • Wow, This is pretty rad-tacular.

  • I wish this looped, i want to listen to this beautiful song allllll day without having to bother with the reply button all de time.

  • @GaarasGoth youtuberepeater. but that phrase in place of youtube in the url. you're welcome.

  • j'lai vue ...

  • My God Angels again.......

  • I'll name my next cat either Aisling or Pangur Ban, or maybe I'll just get two cats XD

  • It's beautifull, so much fantasy in one little song.

  • I have to agree with many, many comments below, the movie is absolutely amazing, I loved the way it's made, very, very original, the patterns inside of the trees and all, characters based off geometric figures, just great! Also, I like how Crom is a pattern in itself.

  • Here's something very old that comes to mind (translated from the Gaelic):

Níl sa tsaol so ach ceo

(This life is not but mist)

    Is ní bheimíd beo

    (And we'll not be alive)

    Ach seal beag gearr.

    (but a short brief time)

Good luck to you always …

  • That cat will never be the same again.

  • @lml8908 You are right buddy, so how is it up north? Get a viking hat yet?

  • @lml8908 Miauw.

  • There must be something wrong with the views! It's only showing mine!!

  • i love this the secret of kells is just amazing its sooo sweet

  • their are certain movie moments which stick with you for days after watching them; this is one of those, the whole story coalesces into this little moment - pure movie magic (:

  • This is what walking through a moonlit 13th-century Icelandic forest must have felt like.

  • @wox420 Iceland does not have trees.

  • @TheGreatTrixie Actually, Iceland is very green and foresty. You may think it's full of ice, but that's Greenland that's frozen over and barren. The two alternate names were created to trick the Vikings into thinking that Greenland was a very lush place that was good for farming and living. The real villagers hid out on Iceland, which is very lush and green.

  • @silvermewtwo I've been to Iceland a few times, but I see somebody clearly did not get the joke.

  • @TheGreatTrixie Well, you didn't say it in a joking/sarcastic matter, and there are lots of complete idiots on Youtube. How was I supposed to know you were joking? :)

  • @silvermewtwo lol I've heard that before

    its so funny

  • I must admit, as beautiful as this is, the DVD actually has this beat in my eyes because it's at a somewhat lower pitch, which suggests something more deep, more serious, and far more haunting.

  • So pure, yet so haunting.

  • @blishize you can say that again I went to gaél cóláiste last summer

  • @blishize Oh don't worry, I now that. It makes me proud to see we've got a style all our own, our own language and everything. And now, it is immortalized in a film. Indeed, Irishness is coming back.

  • I strongly not recommend to listen this song before having see the movie. With the dark caracter, the continual fear of villager and the sad situation of them, the song appear like a very thin sliver of light going right on our emotional center. It's like preliminary, it is worth, and you will not regret the hour of time it took to listen to it, even if it's not the first time you seen it. (excuse my english)

  • pffff shivers

  • The girl who sings it is named Christen Mooney. The translation of the song is You must go where I can not, Pangur Ban Pangur Ban, In this life is not just fog, We do not live, but a little short spell. Pangur Ban Pangur Ban, In this life is not just fog, We do not live, but a little short spell. Pangur Ban also closely means White Lady
  • That was beautiful

  • Shivers from 0:00 to 1:26 ... Every picture in this scene is a gift for the heart.

Who said magic doesn't exist ?

  • This scene inspired me to learn Irish! Tá sé go halainn!

  • I found the song in itunes. just type in Aisling song.

  • This is by far my favourite part of this movie

  • that cat looks like mine! :)

  • The echo-chime off grabbing the key gives me goosebumps.

  • OMG thank you for posting this! I LOVE this movie so much!

  • just magical...

  • I love this movie :) her voice is so magical. hell the whole movie is magical ^_^

  • This is seriously one of the most beautiful things I've ever listened to.

  • too short..but too beautifull....

    poz iz Srbije :)))

  • This song is so sad, but very beautiful. I think it foreshadow's Brendan's journey to get the Crystal. I love the mystical and resigned feeling you get when listening to it.

  • i liked this movie a lot but i thought that it was a bit sad because Brendan never really saw her again in her normal form

  • if you like this, watch the movie "The Secret of Kells" it's an excerpt from it..

  • I was holding my breath for the last 1 minute of the song xp

  • Such haunting beauty.

  • love this move but it was a bit short

  • My white cat couldn't stop staring at the screen while I watched this. Normally she ignores what I watch on Youtube. Maybe she found it inspiring. :3

  • Omg My name is Aisling :O :P__

  • What a sweet voice!

  • this cat has different coloured eyes. green and blue

  • @WhiteCrownlessQueen You should be a detective.

  • @HubbellKent lol thanks :D

  • Pangur Banlooks like my cat Tupee

  • magical !!!

  • I thought so

  • What are the lyrics? Even if I dont know them in English I will still sing it in this wonderful language that I can strangely understand. That is how deep this scene is...

  • @TheKaiaB The language is Irish

  • the cat must be so confused.

  • Where the hell is the loop button on this thing?

  • I love this song! Any idea who sings is?

  • that cat at the end is like,WTF JUST HAPPENED?! XD beautiful song though,i love it

  • magic.....love her voice

  • voveso in mori mon vandas

  • This is on par with the Ave Maria segment in Fantasia. That Beautiful! Also, I don't care what people say on the story, I thought it was great.

  • I'm Irish my self! I never knew how artisic Ireland can be with a movie!!!

  • @SilentEmmet I'm Irish 2. :) i don't know much. :( I'm learning it or trying 2. I know more Japanese. Its hard learning to speak something else when you have no one to talk 2 that knows and/or is speaking it 2. :(

  • I loved this movie so much! The artwork was absolutely captivating! I found myself watching it over and over again just to stare at all of the backgrounds.

  • pangur Ban was the name of a young Irish Monk's pet cat, and the oldest surviving poem in Irish/Irish gaelic is about Pangur Ban. that's why the creators named this cat Pangur Ban, I think.

  • My name is Aisling and my mom told me that Aisling means Dream :)

  • @TheHellokitty301 It's also a type of Irish poetry, where Ireland comes to the poet in the form of a woman and tells him or her stuff. for example, " four green fields"... it's a very cool name :)

  • @silkensilence To tell the truth i didnt know that and on second thought thanks ^_^

  • i dont speak irish i just can talk it when i see it

  • i love this song! i sing it to myself all the time

  • Most beautiful secret hidden has been showed to us. Listen. Be quiet. Learn. Open.

  • I love this movie; this scene and song were incredible to watch!

  • simplemente wow

  • Oh, that is amazing.

  • its so tranquil and beutiful. wish she could lul me to sleep every night with her singing

  • I know it's not possible to rape a replay button, but I think I just did...

  • @Stormbreez98 Google chrome supports extentions: one of them is a "auto replay" function for youtube ;)

  • Aisling has a beautiful singing voice. The song is so calm and seuthing like a lullaby. Is that Galic or something?

  • @GPischke It is. It's Irish Gaelic. Most Irish people just call the language Irish.

  • @GPischke Aye. It is Gaelic. Its a shame the language was wiped out by the English language, despite it's simplicity. We had a language all our own, look at it now. Flatter than a rat.

  • when i hear the song and watch the scene as well, i feel strangely calm, very strange song it is. i don know maybe that's just me.

  • Cat is like "What da heck just happened to me?"

  • This scene continues to give me shivers every time I see it.... and I must have seen it at least 20 times...

  • i saw my step mom scrolling through Netflix and the suggested name caught my eye, so i went online and looked for it. good thing i did. i was getting tired of the song i sang every day.

  • @HannahTheScribe

"You must go where I can not,

    Pagur Ban Pangur Ban

Not in this world but fog (nil sa seol sa ach ceo)

go now for a (is ni bemind beo)

little only a short while (ach seal beag guarr)"

and so on are the real words. just saying.

  • you must go where i can not pangur ban pangur ban nil sa seol sa ach ceo is ni behmind beo ach seal beag geaurr pangur ban pangur ban nil sa seol sa ach ceo ach seal beag geaurr you must go where i can not pangur ban pangur ban nil sa seol sa ach ceo is ni bemind beo ach seal beag geaurr.... the song... the tune is wonderful. i memorized the whole thing. it is wonderful. lovely lovely lovely.

  • Look, two people sent lyrics already, Hannah and Me, there is no need for more. There is no right Translation because it's a song, in Irish, a language that cannot be properly translated into English or vice versa.

  • @Koloszrodosthe i know that. i just felt like typing it. it sounds so awesome, dont you think? (ands whats with the take-charge kind of thing? 'Look, two...' what are you my old drill instructor at the junior sherif police academy when someone attempts a talk-back?) and why are you saying that there is no right translation because its a song? so? miley cirus (god i hate her mu- noise) sings songs and they can be translated (I think?) i know thats not what you mean, but the wording is misleading.

  • beutifool

  • i cant take it she died and it was stupid how she died and sad so very sad

  • @TheDomo360 I don't think she died, because you saw her later, and you saw the flowers - I interpreted it as she survived - but was weakened by Crom; thus she didn't show her human form again until the end.

  • @volcanolover exactly!

  • @TheDomo360 um....where exactly does is say she died in the movie?

  • @BlueDragonOfUNA exactly.

  • @TheDomo360 uh she didnt die. did you see the end?? she shows up again dummy. in human form, too. take a peek why dont you (not meaning to sound mean, but true)

  • @TheDomo360 How can she die? She's a forest Spirit, she's immortal.

  • if i ever get a cat, i'm gonna name it Pangur Ban, it's decided.

    <3

  • @shauri89 I read a web comic whos author has a cat named Pangur Ban. :P

  • You must go where I can not,

    Pangur Bán, Pangur Bán,

Níl sa saol seo ach ceo,

    Is ni bheimid beo,

    ach seal beag gearr,

    Pangar Bán, Pangar Bán,

Níl sa saol sea ach ceo,

    Is ni bheimid beo,

    ach seal beag gearr.

  • @Koloszrodosthe wow i just typed that and the english translation above. take a peek. the translation is up there, too. how do i know what shes saying? i have my ways ^_'

  • @CrimsonNightsFlame you did it one hour ago. I put this up 5 days ago.

  • @Koloszrodosthe Actually, you put it up 3 hours ago ^_'

  • @CrimsonNightsFlame can You not read, it says 5 Days ago. Please don't make me start trolling on you.

  • @Koloszrodosthe i meant the last comment. check your wording. 'I put THIS up 5 days ago.' you said this, which causes the asumption that you posted that one five days ago, but i put the 3 hours ago you sent THAT comment. it twas a joke.

  • @CrimsonNightsFlame You can't put up jokes like that through a comment, no-one will get them.

  • @HannahTheScribe How do know that that's what that means?

  • @waterflowing2 I know Irish, that's not what the song is.

  • @waterflowing2 Not exactly anyway. But it is the translation.

  • i love this song its so touching i want to cry whaaaaa :( im onely 10 years old

  • i love this song its so touching i want to cry whaaaaa

  • wonderful

  • I just thought of how Brendan needing the eye of the Pagan God to complete the Four Gospels is a way of saying a lot of Christian beleifs and prctices stemmed from Pagan ones.

  • I got chills when I first saw this scene.

  • @BlueDragonOfUNA I still do.

  • @BlueDragonOfUNA me too :)

  • @BlueDragonOfUNA me too! I'm sad that each viewing since hasn't had the same impact :(

  • @BlueDragonOfUNA I can say that about half of the movie

  • Meravigliosa!

  • @HannahTheScribe

Yea no panic I was just sure saol is life!

  • @HannahTheScribe

    Not misty life?

  • Love it

  • Magnifique film d'animation, bouleversant et fantastique. Une vraie merveille à découvrir et redécouvrir ! Coup de cœur pour cet extrait, merci beaucoup de l'avoir mis !

  • i've seen the movie with my dad and bro.

    its great!

you lot that havnt seen it should!

  • Bruno Coulais...didn't he do the music for Coraline as well?

  • @SairCowbell Yeah

  • Bruno Coulais is amazing.

  • long lives 2d animation

    fed up with cgi cartoons

  • what language is this song? celtic? Norwegian

  • @SerpentKunoichi26 I think it's supposed to be Irish Gaelic. I may be wrong, though.

  • @SilverEriena

    It's Irish!

  • @countsmyth Aye, it is.

  • Pangur Bán in adorable.

  • Aisling if my favorite character.

  • Also i love that shadow on 0:44

  • I dont care if this IS for little kids! this movie is beautiful and deep!!! :D

  • @iKitKatSensei its for litte kids?! certainly doesn't seem like it if people are getting KILLED like that (people dont usually get killed in little kid movies, even Finding Nemo) learn something new everyday, huh? but it IS lovely indeed.

  • If you're an intelligent person, you'll see the strange, deep beauty of this film. It was odd, poignant and surreal, and it took a lot to get me to watch it.

But if you're an ingelligent or competent person, you will love this film.

  • @Shashanyaara i liked it, but i have to ask why Aisling's hair is white and her eyebrows black. did she burn them?

  • This film look damned epic

  • it's a piece of art. It is really hard to describe how I fee after listening to it

  • i love the song the movie is just like peaceful but the second to last ending part is not with the enemies. The song almost makes me cry :(.The serpent with the eye was cool.I think the song makes a big part of the movie.

  • i actually cried.

  • This is one of those songs that echoes in your mind for days, but It's just so.. enchanting , you don't really mind. I love it.

  • Never seen this movie, only this clip. Do you guys recommend it? Looks truly magical so far :D Which I love<3

  • @Vdp0el It really is magical. I highly recommend it, if you would like to see a film that's just a little bit different and extremely beautiful.

  • @Vdp0el Recommened!! It's really good.

  • Do you know how that song called and who sings it? :)

  • @NakamuraAyumu Aisling Song, with lyrics of Tomm Moore (the director and writer of the film) and music of Bruno Coulais. Christen Mooney sings it

  • 5 people listen to Rebecca Black instead of someone with a real voice like Christen Mooney

  • this movie has some amazing animation to it too. Everything's colorful, highly decorative, and so full of life :)

  • Damn ( 0:47 ) creepy or epic I cant choose maybe both :D

  • I can't listen to this song without choking up. So gorgeous.

  • I haven't seen the movie yet, but I love it already. I can't imagine what will happen to me when I will be able to watch it. Amazing, so simple, still full of emotions. And I love celtic and gaelish, they are part of the most beautiful languages on earth.

  • I named my cat after the cat in the movie

  • @tvadikt

The name (Pangur Bán) actually comes from a really old poem where a monk compares his pursuit of knowledge to his cat's pursuit of a mouse. It's a really cool name for a cat!

  • Dude the cat is like "What just happened?"

  • Nothing stops the vikings, even magical celtic fairy people!!!

  • must be a great movie :)

  • simply perfect. it makes me remember things what i've never seen. but i feel i know it.

  • My brothers are in love with this movie. My youngest even begs me to get this song to sing him to sing at night

  • You must go where I can not, Pangur Ban Pangur Ban, Nil sa saol seo ach ceo, Is ni bheimid beo, ach seal beag gearr. Pangur Ban Pangur Ban, Nil sa saol seo ach ceo, Is ni bheimid beo, ach seal beag gearr Translation: You must go where I can not, Pangur Ban Pangur Ban, It’s a misty old world, and we are only in it for a short, sharp while
  • @MobRulesNow thanks man :)

  • @allenco65 You're welcomed. Thanks for the clip!

  • panger's (Did I spell that right?) little meow at the end always puts a smile on my face.

  • The film's emotional, I think.

Though I don't find this song sad... .?

  • My Name Is Aisling...Creepy Song.. :/
