Well done for keeping Jills memory alive.I was involved in the protest at Baginton Airport. At the time of jills death I worked for the PDSA in Coventry. I was absolutely shocked & horrified to hear that a young woman from my home town had died fighting to stop veal calves being exported daily from the airport.I wore a purple ribbon on my PDSA uniform to show solidarity with the campaigners.I was asked to remove it from my unifrom by the head vet-that day I quit my job & joined the campaigners!
Thanet Council in Kent, UK does not want the vile live export trade which uses its port. It is unable to stop it due to The Harbours, Docks & Piers Clauses Act of 1847 which makes it illegal to refuse a ship the use of a port if it is carrying out lawful trade. This law stops port owners refusing trade on ethical grounds. Please sign the petition started by Councillor Ian Driver to get the law changed in the UK.

Actually we are design to eat meat as well as grains and vegatables, our large protein diet is what allowed our ancestors to develop more complex brains. And correction: Vegans live longer than people who eat LOTS of meat, but studies have shown that they have shorter lifespans compared to people who eat meat in moderation and have a balanced diet.
Which study cause the longest one done by the Univ. of Chicago suggests otherwise? More and more doctors are recomending a vegan diet to their patients.

I do not believe an entire civilization should die off for the sake of the regional fauna. We humans are animals ourselves. If we're going to protect animals, we need to take that into consideration.

I believe fur is murder and I think people should not be cruel to animals. I also believe that PETA has done some good things, such as providing fixing services.
But I still eat meat, and some would instantly label me as an animal-hater for it.

First, define sentience. If livestock is sentient, then so are bears and lions. They eat meat, and are thus murderers.
Second, as long as you're helping the environment by not eating meat, go all the way. Don't use fuel or electricity.
Finally, many third-world nations, like Ethiopia, are dependent on their livestock for survival. So going vegan ends world hunger, eh?
Now enlighten me: how is arguing with someone you don't expect to convince equivalent to striking out against the meat industry?

I was thinking less of stereotyping and more of "setting an example." People who see a person from a group acting a certain way will, stereotyping or not, draw judgments about that group based on those actions. I'm not saying that animal activists go around wishing people cancer. I'm saying that the act of wishing people cancer could cause some people to misinterpret what animal activists stand for.

Actually we are design to eat meat as well as grains and vegatables, our large protein diet is what allowed our ancestors to develop more complex brains. And correction: Vegans live longer than people who eat LOTS of meat, but studies have shown that they have shorter lifespans compared to people who eat meat in moderation and have a balanced diet.

Thank you for all of your movies on you tube, I can never get bored of hearing Ingrid Newkirk speak or anyone speak for the rights of animals and the support of a vegan lifestyle. corpsadvisor, humans are designed as omnivores but our body has a strong obvious bias towards vegetables. We have four canines, the rest of our teeth are made for chewing vegetables. I don't suggest the argument from nature. All life is made to pass on its genes to the next generation at any cost. By basing your life on this principle, you could justify rape. Also PETA is not the entire animal rights movement. I'm vegan and I hate PETA.

Terrorism is not about the killing, it is about the terror. Killing is just a means to instill fear. PeTA would go to McDonalds to hand out "Unhappy meals" so that people would be afraid to take their children there. I live in the same area as the PeTA headquarters, and I sometimes run into the PeTA nutcases. As I have told them, if a PeTA nutcase tries their tactics with my child, I will take it as an attack on the child, and it will be a very bad day for the PeTA nutcase!
