  • Sorry. The people in this country (America) get really offended.

  • @Camsynth

If you think that, try saying you hate europeans and watch how many hate mails you get.

  • @DarkosApprentice There's a problem to that. I don't hate Europe.

  • nobody really likes americans. so you are not alone

  • Why are you calling names? My parents were from Europe. I know the news here is swayed. It's swayed everywhere. You don't get to see the people, the good people. I live in NYC and have travelled the world. You can hate the govt, the media, but not the people, it isn't fair

  • I am just back from Europe. I was shocked at the media there. All media is swayed.

  • u hate American policies, so do most Americans. But woala its not like we have a choice in our policy making. its not medias function to make americans look good. americans media function to engeener consent of american public so they can push their policies.

yes you make too much sense and u too logical, yes I dont agree with that:) but its nice to know the difference bt critisism and critique. But then again everything thats being said is said by somebody...

  • really, hey you said you didn;t really hate America. it is not bad for your saying. I am born in America. even I love my country, but I never know the original country (Taiwan) just know that my daddy came from Taiwan. I love American. There are a lot of bad persons and a lot of very good persons everywhere. So .... I think I grow up in America, I love this country. Don't say you hate American.

  • you proberly only got tretined

  • @Soloman1001 The far right Republicans here just stepped in shit. In Wisconsin they want to pass laws against collective bargaining. No union person will allow that. It's illegal for one and they will lose that in court. And they just insured that all union people will vote democratic in the next election. The dumb asses just re-elected Obama.

  • Love you Harry, even though you hated Catholics.

  • @Bobo McGraw (cont) Don't get me wrong, there are real differences that exist among people and things can get intense. That's ok. I just don't think some of the comments are necessary to make a point. Where are the cats? I got a kick out of them.

  • @Mary Dawgs See here I go now doing the very thing I said wasn't necessary. I guess when someone takes an unnecessary slap at you, anything can happen.

  • @ Bobo McGraw I really enjoyed this video. I have also viewed your other video on I hate Americans. I liked that also. An exchange of views is important. The way it is done does have a definite effect on how people experience it. Some of the commentators seem to just be interested in trading insults. That gets old. The views you get from the media are the ones that they believe will give them good ratings. The media also has it's own agenda to put forth and that in turn colors what is presented.

  • @Marydawgs I understand the quest for ratings.

My most viewed video is on Irish accents.

It's also my most hated apparently.

I have toyed with the idea of making another video along the same lines just for the views.

    That and trolling is fun.

  • your irish get over it

  • @DANNY22XX US citizen.

  • @DANNY22XX Nothing to get over. I'm american-Irish and proud of it.Don't like it, too bad.

  • get a job for fuck sake

  • @DANNY22XX This video is two years old.

  • This fella is a gaylord!!

Your a muppet thats straight from Dublin Buddy

  • @roardecks You,Sir are a fool!

  • Please no more videos for crying out loud..my brain cant seal with it.

  • @Soloman1001 That's ok; Just don't look at it.

  • @5218bunny

Just kidding with you. 1 million people died in the irish potato famine, i didnt realise it was that bad. But dont blame the Brits for the rest of time, it was afew hundred years ago and times have changed. We used to have a king who bumped off all his wives because they couldnt bore him a son awell. I really hope we have moved on from this now.

  • @Soloman1001 We hope so, but I hear the Nationalists are re-arming in Ulster.Wish things were better but they're not.

  • @5218bunny

It always seems to go that way when the Conservatives get ino power in Britain. When the Scoialists were in power, everrything was calm. The Scots has a similar mentality also.

  • You done well paddy. Here have a potato, its on me.

  • @possession2 Stuff it idiot. The Irish starved because of british misrule and you make jokes? Kiss off!

  • @5218bunny booo fucking hooo

  • @possession2 No.Fuck you, sonofabitch

  • @Marydawgs Cry more paddy bitch, have a potato to mop up the tears

  • @possession2 No crying.I'm American Irish.Oh yeah,fuck you racist prick.

  • @Marydawgs Irish are no race you stupid fuck head, go learn some shit fucking fat yank.

  • @possession2 They are separate and completely different from you English racists. What you have done in the six counties is well documented.Indeed, what you have done to the Irish in the entire country of Ireland is known and I intend to make even more people aware of it.The whole world is watching. I will give my best effort to put forth what was done by the English in Ireland. This you can count on. Got it!

  • @Marydawgs What are you 4th 5th 6th generation Irish? I'm probably more Irish than you, I've even lived in Ireland have you? fool.

Lets talk about how you lot have decimated the indigenousness people of north America, how you made countless agreements with native Indians and then totally stitched them up for your own personal greed. Lets talk about the nuclear bombs you lot dropped on hundreds of thousands of innocent women children and men. Your a fucking idiot, go away and eat a twinkie.

  • @possession2 You're more Irish than I am?Yeah, right! Typical foolishness you put forward. And you have to use insults and foul language in all your comments. My mother and father lived through your English "benevolent"rule. Can't lie your way out with me. Maybe with those who do not know you can. But there are fewer of those now. You want to change the subject?

  • @Marydawgs Give 'em hell or give 'em the Truth and They'll Think It's Hell. Sunds good to me.

  • @possession2 That's ok; we do allright here in the u.s.a. thanks so much

  • @possession2 How would you like that potato in your face, clown.

  • you're a good man. how did u like living in chicago? i live here too.

  • Our media isn't being exported to you, when you turn on your television you're watching BBC, or RTE or some other non-american news corporation. The BBC has been waging war on the American people, not just blasting our politics (by all means, please do) but our people, with videos of them interviewing morons and only showing what a few ignorant and uneducated Americans say. And all the Europeans gobble it up because they want to feel superior to Americans.

  • Do you consider Fox news American?

  • @bobomcgraw Yes,because many new reporters, producers etc, are of liberal bent, so, those who want to hear the other side, need another source. Fos News is very popular here because the American people tend to be in the centeror even center right. We not all liberal here.I,myself, am a moderate Democrat with a trade union background. So, we listen to everything to get some idea of what goes on.Some of us don't care enough to vote.amazing as that sounds, it's true. (cont.)

  • @bobomcgraw We got 60% turnout and that was considered very good. I That disgraceful.there is too much lobbying and money involved.we should control it better but it is difficult to go against big money, so people get disillusioned and don't vote. The answer is to get more involved not less. That's one reason Pres. Kennedy was so popular. He challenged us to do better and it really impressed people. We haven't had as good since. He's one of my heroes in spite of his shortcomings in certain areas.

  • @5218bunny correction,That's 60% turnout in california.Democrats won here.We won the governorship.Voted for jerry brown for governor for the third time! In the U.S. Senate race Barbara Boxer beat republican Meg Whitman who spent 180Million of her own money. Californians don't like people who blatantly try to buy the seat. So, we're very happy in no. ca. at our election returns. We must vote people, no matter what our political viewpoint.

  • to be honest dude, i am ashamed to be an american. this country hasn't had an excuse to be involved in any international conflict since WW2 - and the way that the USA ended that conflict, with japan, with the Atomic bomb, was nothing short of a major war crime. every war since then has been awful and inexcusable, all over power grabs, or trying to "stop communism", or for oil, or trying to police other countries so they are governed "the democratic way"... its really shit.

  • so, my point is, you really honestly cannot find hardly any americans here who really support a non-interventionist, neutral foreign policy. people there in the EU, for the most part, naively think the democrats do ~ yet, it was the democrats who were behind Vietnam, and it was the democrats who authorised the invasions and occupations of Afghanistan and Iraq. and Obama still hasnt gotten us out of those countries - soemthing he promised to do immediately after being elected. hes a feckin liar

  • that's why i didnt vote for the tard ~ i knew he was a liar, and he wasnt going to get us out of those wars. so, those of you who hate americans, I UNDERSTAND! americans just refuse to mind their business in the world and think every international problem is solved at the trigger-end of a gun! honestly, i wish i could leave america. but every country in europe has such a strict immigration policy that i can't even get in since i am not a "professional".

  • im of irish descent but i am not daff enough to think i am irish. i am a yank and that is all i'll ever be. but i sure wish i could live in ireland where people are at least SANE and civilised. unfortunately, your immigration laws in your country are too strict for me to get in and stay there. (and yes, i have visited several times before). just count yourself lucky that YOU aren't trapped in the United States of America.

  • Irish people may be sane but our legislators aren't.

Our country may be nice ot visit but it's not as pleasant to live here.

  • @DoubleNegativexyz Don't you think every country has its good points and bad ones also? If you are involved as a world power, don't you think there are involvements that can't be avoided? That is not to say that there have been things done by this country (and others also-can't give them a pass.) I wish we had never gotten involved in Iraq. We did Iran a favor and created a power vacuum there.THE LAST THING that was needed! Afghanistan is a different story. That was AlQaeda sanctuary.

  • @DoubleNegativexyz (cont) I wish we had just done what we could to damage Afghan. for what Al Qaeda was training to do from there and leave. Can't do anytging with that place. It is tribal. There is no governmental organization there and they do not want one. We certainly have enough things to deal with at home. I don't get you're being ashamed of being American. Where are going to go that does not have issues to deal with? The Japanese made their own choices at the end of that war.

  • @DoubleNegativexyz (cont)Do I think it was an awful thing to happen? Yes. I am sorry innocents died. Had to end it. A ground invasion would have been brutal also. That all for now. Gotta go vote. Oh, SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS won the World Series!!!

  • @Marydawgs Carefully notice my name. it is 10faenor. You were previously talking to someone who's real name is Thomas Lowery. He uses 10faenorr (2 r's), jfilles000000, KookTartFarts, and many others. This weirdo professed his hatred for all things Kennedy and love for the CIA about 2 years ago. If you irritate him with the truth as I and some other viewers did, he will make a name similar to yours and use it to express his hate and rants.

He travels around to many of the JFK assassination rooms.

  • @10Faenor I knew about the j.filles000000 & Ms.DrLowery.I did not know he was 10faenorr. Thanks for the info.I already figured out from some of his comments that he is wacked out. Thanks so much.

  • Bob--

You are right.... it is foolish to generalise any people so. I would like to think anyone with common sense, intelligence, and logic would know better not to generalise any people so. *sighs* Prejudice, stereotypes, generalisations, and bias are something I constantly debate against on youtube.

  • jesus said judge the world with righteousness . so i admit that what you is a little true . don't judge the american rashly because sme are real nice people okay . And there is some great spanish people as well man .

  • i hate to admit it, but alot of the news we see here and what you see there is actually fairly accurate. we are a very violent people it seems. i dont blame the rest of the world for hating us. i sometimes find myself despising my citizenship also. i also am confused as to why you would eve be getting our news? seriously we are not that exciting.

  • We hear about the shootings, bombings all that.

We never hear about the guy who runs into a burning building to save a baby or whatever.

It's like the saying goes, bad news travels on the wings of an eagle, good news on the wings of a snail.

  • Really? People need evidence to k ow that the majority of americans are not crazy? Or that the majority of arabs don't blow themselves up? I'd think it would take a bit of education and common since. People can read some american books or get some non mainstrean american culture; really easy with the internet. Before forming an opinion on any subject anyone worthy of a speck of respect will research the subject. Don't blame the media.

  • Of course they do, people need evidence to show them that what they believe to be true is in fact false.

Yes, it is easy with the internet, but why would people research a subject they don't believe needs researching?

American media shows the world, albeit incorrectly, that you are all a load of extremely right wing, conservative, xenophobic nuts.

  • Now as an American you would know to take your media with a pinch of salt, but don't expect anyone that has never set foot in your country to be as intimately familiar with your media outlets, and their reputations, as you are.

The only reason I know to be wary of Fox or any others is because I stumbled upon people discussing their bias on the internet.

  • After moving to the US at the age of 10 and growing up there, I always had a lot of respect for other countries and cultures. It was taught to me in the american public schools (waaaay more than it was in Russia where I was born). Now, I've been working overseas for 2 years (Korea and France). I am astounded at how little respect people seem to have for other cultures and how easily they bash america right to my face. I am very disappointed by the lack of education and respect.

  • Snows-

People like that exist everywhere, it can't be helped. I am American and I was taught to respect all people, countries, and cultures. I was also taught that everyone is equal regardless of race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, etc.

  • @bobomcgraw Fox News gets bashed because it is to the right of network news and most of entertainment world personalities. But Fox became big because EVERYTHING was filtered through a liberal, left media and middle of the road and conservatives got fed up with it. Fox is huge now. Blows other networks out of the water. When you hear people speaking about bias, you have to figure out what THEIR agenda is. Later

  • But how uneducated does a person have to be to take some clips of any media outlet as hard evidence? i've seen many clips of africans dancing with drums and nazi soldiers marching. However, common sense told me that those images couldn't be the sum of those lives and cultures. And after that, I went on to search more info. People choose to believe the worst about the others because it makes them feel superior.

  • @bobomcgraw That is what the media wants to put out to the world. That is their bias.

  • I know the media only shows the interesting things, but we don't judge other countries based on media, so you guys shouldn't either! We hardley ever see news about Ireland. Don't blame the American media, it's YOUR media that shows these things that America does. Because you don't see American media... you don't live in America. It's the UK media doing it.

  • Your media exports your news.

    And Ireland ≠ UK.

  • The "beating off atheist" thing was funny. It has a different meaning here. America brought in a better light in the news does not make good news, we all hate the media, trust me. They love to spin it.

  • Did I say beating off atheists?

  • i get what your saying about other countires opinions based on the news they get showing

negative things that we do i can understand why they would feel that way.I agree with you on that. i think that could hold true for any country basing their opinion on another country based only on what they see. And if they are constantly shown negative things then they are going to make a judgement about all its people. I dont mind the rambling, its kinda cute. Even your cat has an opinion lol :)

  • Cats are highly opinionated, we can learn from them.

  • i'm glad we are helping you. i personally write things down (don't really like my voice, i tend to mumble). but, go ahead and keep doing videos and i will watch them (so, will alot of other people).

  • I have to start making more notes, to stop me from rambling on or going off on a tangent.

  • It's amazing that people need this stuff explained to them.

  • I'm not really surprised that some do as those ones just either read the title or are comatose while the video plays.

Then they comment on what they think they heard.

  • I am sorry the English did what they did - but I have to say I thought better of you - you lowered yourself to dragging up the past to enpower your commenets - all you did for me if remind me of the monsters I have in my bloodline and made me feel guilty for something I had no power over - why cant people stop standing in the past and move forward - Dragging up the past makes us live there and we cant change it so it makes us all angry about it

  • That was my point, the past is over and done with.

One of my closest friends is English and I'm fine with that, he has never gone out and taken anything from anyone here, no, he went to school and now he works.

I don't hate him for what his ancestors did, it's not something I do.

Don't feel guilty over something you had no part in, it's only a fool of an Irishman that would try to blame you for it.

  • It's extremely sad you had to make this to clarify to some of us people who hide in the woods and don't know it's 2008 yet (Yeah, I'm American, too) Love the country, question the government, god knows I hate some of the people. Sorry about spelling/grammatical errors in my comments on the other one. I had type lag, a WoW player knows the evils of lag!

  • Yes I do, lag kills.

    There are what, 300,000,000 Americans?

How could I possibly hate them all?

I don't by the way, I quite like a few of them.

  • I just reread this and realized the first line could be taken as an insult to you. What I meant is that us Americans need to grow up and be less judgmental and hear people out and take time to form a worthy opinion before we start making nonsensical hate rants. So it's sad on out part, not yours. Sorry for the confusion (I'm one of your new subscribers, btw =)

  • I've had people leave comments with a similar idea, hear why people dislike America and fix it rather than jump on the "hate them back" bandwagon.

  • People hate Americans because America is a war-mongering imperialistic shit hole

    That's why

Death to America, Out of Iraq NOW

  • I'm an American, & I rarely watch news. It's too depressing. I read comic book news and I'm 25, sad, I know. But just today as I was hoping to hear Obama might be ahead, and I stopped only to hear a story about child abuse, a crazy guy with a chainsaw in a homeless shelter and Ann Coulter talking up the Confederacy. I'm not kidding. So I can easily see how others can see us as nutjobs. But I'm optimistic, when I see a lot of good conversations on sites like this between all kinds of people.

  • Yes, Youtube is great for allowing real people to meet real people.

  • I agree with all you have said. I think this is one of the main problems with the American society nowadays. The media is no longer a service, but a tool used to keep the peoples wrapped up in whichever fantasy world they wish to convey.

  • That's what everyone here says, no-one cares what happens as long as they have TV.

  • In a perfect world, there would be NO labels. My race, gender, religion, nationality would not be seen...you would see ME... a fellow human being just trying to survive on this planet like everyone else.

  • Actually I noticed this about myself, unless someone wears a symbol of their religion then it never enters into my head while I'm with them to question what religion they might be.

  • As for critique versus criticism. So many people don't get it.

Youtube helps me sharpen my argument and focus my thoughts too.

whirlpool and you too bobo, continually present ideas that are pertinent and challenging.

so many on youtube post comments and videos that are pretty much useless.

  • "Boring" is not a critique, it's not a constructive comment, it's not even useful.

But that is the type of the comment I receive fairly often.

People assume I'm here to entertain them.

If you really are so starved for entertainment that you come to me, I'd like a little incentive, hint hint.

  • should i send that vixen XxMelissaXx0 by. she is very entertaining!

  • The StarWars videos?

  • Your "incentive" comment made me think of her, but I should have thought it out better. It's not the Star Wars videos so much. She took a fancy to me and has been leaving graphic comments on my page!

  • I have a bemused look on my face right now.

I'm trying to think of an ASCII image to convey it.

    o_O should about do it.

  • The american news media went wrong when they stopped treating news as a public service. A loss leader as the business people say. Now they news must show a profit.

It his hurting our self image as well as those in the rest of the world.

  • That was my point, you put it better than I did.

  • I should have proof read that. . . but thanks!

  • Even with spelling mistakes it was well put.

  • News is a commodity that is sold...to hell with what's true, it's what rates.

Hopefully new mediums such as You Tube will counter this 'unnecessary evil'.

I think as I talk/type too...ramble away mate; the videos I've seen of yours have always been insightful & interesting.

  • News is a commodity, that's very well put.

But as CitizenKong said, the truth is not a commodity.

    There's something in that.

Oh, and thank you, I try.

  • I'd like to say "we allll try" but can only speak for myself!

Yes CK is right. Truth is hard enough to pursue in its own right without contamination from the insidious media whore and that 'hocus pocus' brigade waving 'answers' in front of our eyes.

  • I have an essay to do now on terrorism, based on Ted Honderichs ideas actually.

I want to focus on the whole notion of truth as it applies to these definitions and the applications of terms to groups.

Actually CKs video on waterboarding, which brought up the American governments inability to adequately define torture, should provide some ideas for my essay.

  • I find these forums excellent places to explore own thoughts and of course challenge them...it's as though the 'truth' is continuously and perpetually unravelling. But of course, only my truth! Your essay sounds really interesting. Can I suggest you hang onto it so that in years to come you can revisit and compare how your ideas have (maybe) changed? I wish I'd done same!

  • I'm mildly OCD so I tend to hang onto everything.

There's a good chance I'll still have this essay as I'll have a soft copy on my HD.

It is always interesting to see how you change over time.

I was a different person last year.
