  • wut do u mean u wont have to do this manually after feb. 1st?

  • almost all of the themes for summerboard have been updated. when i say updated i mean that they changed it so you don't have to SSH into your ipod and change where the theme is saved.

  • nice nice nice

  • go to /System/Library/Coreservices/Sringboard.app and look for Sringboard. Go to properties and change permissions to 755. Summerboard will now work....trust me.

  • when is customize on 1.1.3 coming out

  • No one knows for sure yet. I guess when the developers decide to release it.

  • HEY..

    Simliar problem among people...

I downloaded summerboard and then went to the prefs and selected a theme....nothing. So I look down and it says inactive, i restart many times [5] and still nothing. I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, nothing. Please help me...

  • try SSHing into your ipod, and change the SMBPrefs permissions to 755.

  • thanks a lot... I will be trying it soon.

  • okay... I am using winscp...

and I only have a folder that is titled summerboard, i go down to preferences and look at the "octal" and it's already at 755...

    any other suggestions???

  • hah! okay.

I found it, changed it, restarted my ipod and... still nothing . :/

  • did you go into the summerboard folder or the SMBPrefs folder and change the permissions? the only other thing i would do is to remove summerboard completly, restart your ipod. install summerboard again, and then restart your ipod. I haven't had this problem. i'm sorry if this doesn't help.

  • hey i followed all of your steps and even picked the same theme as you in the video, but when its time for my ipod's wallpaper and icons to change, they dont. help please, this is all i need to make my 1.1.3 complete

  • did you restart your ipod once you were done installing summerboard? If you did. Try SSHing into your ipod and changing the permissions to 755.

  • hey my ipod summerboard is 755 but it still says at the botrom of summerboard (Inactive) can you help me plz.

    john26051993

  • restart your ipod, and it should say active.

  • a have a question i have installed my SSH but i cant see the icon! wat can i do?

  • try installing bosstool, to free up some space on your ipod. to do this, just delete a few of the apps you have to free up just enough space to install bosstool. then install it. and move your fonts, ringtones, and apps into a different folder, by touching the one you want. or you could just reinstall ssh.

  • Is there a source i can add for more themes? Ive seen a warcraft theme b4 and i was wondering if anyone knew a source i can add for more themes.

  • do u know how soon customize will be up in 1.1.3? and just so you people know SMB fix is now out so download it

  • nope, it is still unsure. what source is the smb fix from?

  • should be in big boss im pretty sure

  • can you tell me the exact source please? cause i've installed it and i still don't have it.

  • Comment removed

  • its not my fault. i didn't do anything. if you followed the instructions exactly, it would work. and please, learn how to type in sentences before you leave a comment.

  • 755

  • whats 755 mean

  • you need to change your permissions to 755 from 644. someone asked what to change the permissions to.

  • what is ssh

  • its where you access your ipods files from your computer using a program like cuteftp.

  • nevermind dont download application prep. it will mess up your 1.1.3 apple applications.

  • what is summerboard?

  • summerboard is an app you can install to change what the icons on your homescreen look like.

  • I would like 2 tell every1 who has the summerboard problem. Try installin application prep. I installed it n my themes kind of shows up on my summerboard. I just thought it may help u guys. but make sure that u have enough space. mayb 1/2 applications installed.

  • Hi, I just downloaded Summerboard 3.1-1 on my jailbroken 1.1.3 ipod touch, and i have a few problems with it. First of all, the themes I download cannot be seen in Summerboard. And second of all, at the very bottom of the application screen, right next to where it says Summerboard 3.1-1, it says Inactive and therefore none of the themes are working. All I wanted to know was how I can activate my Summerboard.

    Thanks for your help, sdssean123!

  • yea, ive done everything correct and everything is in the right place, all set to 755 permissions, have everything correctly installed...but at the bottom on the page..it says summerboard is inactive on the background thing. None of my themes show up that i select...its sucks!

  • i reinstalled it and reboot i got to the last part where i see my theme in SMBprefs but nothings happens. i tried to reboot but nothing. help

  • ok i got the last part. i see my theme on summerboard now but nothing happens when i restart it. i also changed the files to 755. i heard i need to connect those two different folders together or something. help

  • ive done exactly what you said to do in the vid. none of the themes are installing mine or the default ones in the installer pckge. any ideas?

  • You might wanna try to reinstall summerboard, to see if that is the problem. Make sure once it is done installing to restart your ipod or else it won't work.

  • 2:55 after library then theme then drag how? wat? i dont get it. how do u start downloading? ur cam got relaly blurry and we couldnt see what u were doing. help

  • i'll make a video of what i was doing later today with pics, cause its like 1.:36am and i'm tired. haha, so watch out for that.

  • yea...if you go into recent packages. Its called sb fix. It works to...it shows the themes that u downloaded off installer.

  • i think you must have a source i don't have. because i still don't see the fix.

  • They just updated the installer with a application that can fix the whole themes in SMB prefs. but my theme won't show up!? May you help me please!

  • they have? strange... I don't seem to have that app in the installer yet... So i'm sorry, but right now I can't help you.

  • wtf.

after it downloads and starts to install, the bar gets about 1/5 through then installer just crashes to home, i restarted my ipod and it wasnt there still...

  • I don't think you have enough space in the root partion. So download BossTool and it will move your fonts, ringtones, and applications to your media folder, which will allow you to install springboard. If you can't even download bosstool uninstall some apps and try again.

  • ive done exactly in the video, followed all the steps exactly....very easy....however...i select my theme to use, restart ipod....but my theme never shows up...why? any help or advice would be great. thanks

  • Okay, did you put a theme on there with SSH? if you did, you might wanna go back into SSH and right click the folder you put on your ipod and change the properties to 755. it might be possible that not all of the files had their properties changed causing your theme not to show.

  • Hi. Thanks for you reply. Yea, i put my own theme via SSH, and I set all properties for all files to 755. Each time i go into SMBPrefs and select my theme (and any other for that matter including the default ones), i slide the unlock, and still othing has changed, and my theme hasnt loaded. Hmmmm...

  • No problem. Okay, once you touch the summerboard app on your homescreen, you should theme, theme wallpaper, theme status bar, ect... Make sure that they are set to the on postion, because if they are off you won't see anything.

  • Yea, all that is done also already, The Theme Wallpaper, Theme Status Bar, Theme Icons & Theme Dock are all set to 'On;. Advanced Theme Wallpaper and Dim Wallpaper are set to 'On'. But the Hide Icon Labels & Hide Dock Labels are set to 'off'. I've never had any probs with this when using it in 1.1.2....just in 1.1.3 for some reason.

  • WHY IS MY THEME NOT SHOWING??!?!?!?!

  • you need to add it there manually as of right now by sshing into your iPod because the repos haven't been updated yet.

  • i'm kind of lost here. i downloaded the theme. and u put your ipod touch to the side and u opened a program? where do i get that???? im lost right now

  • it still didnt work for me

  • hey it is not working it just keeps going to a black screen and goes back the the home screen help me

    john26051993

  • try reinstalling it.

  • it did the same again, when it has said downloading and then it goes on to installing that is when it goes to black and to the home screen

  • you need to restart your ipod once Summerboard is done downloading, or else you won't be able to open up the application.

  • wOOt

  • Thats nice ;-) Is there Customize for 1.1.3?

  • Nope. not yet at least..

  • Ok Thanx...

  • yay :D
