Well I'm not an engineer, just a guy who wanted to get some extra pull-ups in my day. That said, I figure that the side joist is usually strong enough to accommodate body weight. I wouldn't attach a pull-up bar to the railing, but one of the joists should be strong enough. However, I suppose it's possible some decks aren't built well or have shoddy construction. If that's the case, caution would be advised. Caveat Emptor.

wouldnt it be dangerous for your deck? i mean isnt it possible the deck is not strong enough and something may break? im 200 pounds.
