Mecha Marathon. I could never beat it as a child. Since I don't have turbo, I eventually won it by placing a coin over the two buttons and pressing it....

god i really hate mecha-marathon. it's the worst mini-game of all i've played. for that mini-game. i just use a turbo contoller for the pc version and project 64 1.7.55 and it works for me really good. although for some mini-games, it doesn't work really well.

@yoshiagent101 You have to press both A+B simultaneously (at the same time). You have to enable the turbo function on the controller, though. Try and see if there is a switch that is on/off for turbo.

@DarkBowser64 actually it might not work in all versions, but if you mash the hell out of it for 2 seconds, then quickly unplug all the controllers, you will retain that rythm with no input and most likely win.

Turbo was used. When I played this on my real game, I couldn't clear it because I couldn't possibly press it quickly enough to beat any of the opponents. I still hate that Mini-Game so much for doing that to me.

@13579plang A controller 'trick' that makes the buttons be pressed really quickly. A controller that is mechanically different and lets you use "turbo", which is that. You just hold down the button and it actually makes it be pressed many times on the game.

Hot Rope Jump was such a nightmare for me when I was younger until I noticed that you could just short jump the rope. Still, great job on this.

Ugh.... I hate this world so much! I only have a single shred of sanity left after beating this god-awful world! It has FOUR of my least favorite minigames, AND all the coms were at hard difficulty(which in world 7 translates into "very stupidly hard" difficulty).

When I got to Platform Peril, it was pure luck that I won the game. My hand started to cramp from playing a long time and accidentally moved my control stick to go towards the computer characters. When I almost failed I jumped right away and on the last jump to the goal. I came first in the game.

well i was wondering if you have any tips on beating mecha marathon. what i usually do is press the buttons as fast as i can and hope the computers don't beat it because the way i do it helps me about 45% of the time and was hoping you have way to increase it without the use of the turbo A button hitter machine

@SuperSpyMario Well, I read a guide once, that told me that you could use the "quarter" trick.

Put a quarter over the A and B buttons and paddle it back and forth as much as you can and try not to accidentally let it fall off.

But mecha marathon requires you to press A and B at the same time. Why paddle back an forth? I just use my thumb and cover both buttons then move it up and down rapidly. Worked like a charm ever since I was little.

I guess I'm just not dexterous enough. The only way I can press buttons that fast is if I hold it down against a hard surface and sort of "seizure" my hand into pressing it really fast.

I don't like challenges much either i have a question though. On Level 7, how do u control ur shyguy in Mechamarathon. Do you press A+B together at once or press a then b at a slow pace and keep going. Cause I couldnt get mines to fly the farthest

I don't know, since I haven't checked, but "Simultaneously" means at the same time, and "alternating" means one and then the other.

Just check in Mini-Game Park for the Mini-Game Explanation screen, and it'll match what I say, I believe.

That's because my computer is too slow to record with Fraps sometimes. So I have to speed it up in Movie Maker to try and fix the problem, but due to the nature of the slowdown of the music, it doesn't turn out as good as it should.

I wish I had a faster computer, that's for sure! Then this kind of thing wouldn't be happening!

Like I already said to somebody else, you need to play all 4-Player, 1 vs. 3, and 2 vs. 2 Mini-Games, then buy ALL of them from Woody in Mini-Game Land. You'll need coins you get from each board for this. If you're missing some just play another board game or play Mini-Game Stadium Trial if you have it.
