i bought my speedy in paris at galeries lafayettein march 2005 and my speedy just like yours! the patina is really dark and the handles daaark almost black .. to the comment before.. the handles are darker bc tthats where you mosttouch it...

Louis Vuitton monogram bags are the ultimate cliche but I believe you if you say that's a real bag because speedy bags are the cheapest, they use canvas not leather and are like under $500 at that small size you have.

She obviously bought her LV speedy before every 22 year old and their grandma started carrying them. If it was fake, it would have fallen apart, I'm pretty sure.

they use canvas for the lining and leather and natural cowhide for the outside of the bag and the handles. doesnt mean that out of all LV bags, speedys are the cheapest..

I wouldn't say your speedy is "old" i would say it's "seasoned" like a cast ion pan. i just got my LV signature speedy mongogram bag in # 30. I love the way the bags look when they start to turn darker.

its obviously real! the handles have aged, and thats because its calf hide, which is part of the authentic speedys. love the video!

@SABDONOVIN Maybe because you're used to seeing "new" or fake LV bags where the leather has not aged yet. A real LV bag's leather will ALWAYS turn dark in colour.

The word you were looking for is Patina. LV bags start off light then a gradual oxidization gives it a honey brown colour. I have an LV bag from 1993. I cleaned it up with a magic eraser it worked well.
