  • good job

  • how long can it run on one lode of wood?

  • The more i read on wood gas the more i understand it does not have to be wood, biomass gas would be a more relevant name, ie it could be compressed leaves, or dung, or straw, just somthing with a heavy carbon content. Diesel running sounds like a bit of a difficult one, 'cos you seam to need the initial spark, but it sounds like a small imput of diesel to get the reaction started, still running the engine on tick over diesel+gas, so a petrol unit may be easier.

  • cant manufacturers make tractors like this? why rags are all over and duck tape? lol.. but you guys are best... it will show smart people who's who..

this is brobably future tractor for world

  • wood gas is nasty when it comes to engines

  • since it's a diesel engine with spark-plugs running on woodgas, my question is:

how much (%) is the loss of power compared to driving on diesel?

  • @bluemoondiadochi are you ignorant?

Diesel engines do NOT have spark plugs, they have glow plugs it relies on a constant hot element to ignite fuel rather then a spark

  • @yamahaman123...

did you miss the "wood gas" part on that tractor?

it has a WOOD GAS SYSTEM, and wood gas in a diesel engine can be ignited ONLY:

    1. injecting 20% of usual diesel fuel to ignite wood gas/air mix (dual-fuel)

    2. INSERTING SPARK-PLUGS, decompressing, etc. SO... essentially now it's a gasoline engine. yes, forget the "D" on it!

and yes, i know a bit about how diesel works.

...now, do i need to ask you your own question back? although i think i know the answer...

  • @yamahaman123 On most diesel engines the glow plug is only used foir cold starting, the heat produced by the compressio of the air/diesel mixture is high enough to ignite the mixture. However hotbulb engines such as the lanz bulldog hav a much lower compression, so the compression does not produce sufficient heat and therfore rely on a hot bulb to ignite the mixture.

  • a very nice tractor, i envy you!

love woodgas machines, but the tractor is particulary good; it can power a wood chipper so you get your wood nice and small without hours of sawing by hand or (gasoline or diesel) saw!

  • Very good. I wish to do the same to my tractor.

  • wow vedbil, how many of these have you built?

  • How do gasifiers start gasifying?

Is there a bit of the gas going to burners to heat the wood container making the wood smoulder and keep gasifying once it started?

  • This is the nicest video I've ever seen on YouTube! Aside from the choppy camera jumping all over the place. IT'S PERFECT.

  • Woodgas was invented by a Swede, and the Germans were the first that refined the technic and made great mass-use of it.

  • please help with adivece on my new project, watch my video wood gasifier...

  • If you look at the logo it reads FORDSON MAJOR ,FORDSON MAJOR DIESEL , logo has diesel right on the logo, with a large D in front of Fordson Major. This is a gas "petrol" tractor. As for the previous referring to them as red necks , They are a a lot smarter then you will ever be. At least they put forth an effort to accomplish something . They put forth thinking and work to run a tractor on wood, not gas or diesel. Wood gas is old technology that is making a comeback.

  • Pleaase say to me, IS IT A DIESEL RUNNING ENGINE??????? does it run only on woodgas or you must put some diesel.... i ask because i have seen woodgas sistems only for petrol engines

  • nice work, I also try to built one

This is a Diesel Engine Tractor?

  • Great video

Its hard to say more i am still at a loss of words

    great video

  • Fandeme iorden :))

  • There is something about these wood gas users. They always have dirty hands and a grin from ear to ear. Great video thanks.

  • Jay Leno would love this gearhead in his next PM magazine article.

  • cool! but this not new because in 19th century the 1st heavy metal train can travel by using wood coal. but congrats!

  • please help me with my gasifier, check my videos... i also want to used it in my truck...

  • :O)

  • how is fuel and air ratio regulated? carb?

  • Manual adjustment with a valve on the gas-mixer.

  • i wanna know how this stuff works. How did you guys learn? any publications out there?

  • vedbil . se

    gangas . se

  • cool greetings from Mexico!

  • nice work

  • have you looked into corrugated cardboard to make wood gas? What happens if you throw a little used oil on the wood?

  • I hear from the grapevine that, gasifers have been around for some time since before the great war because fuel was expensive back then so people had to look for other alternatives, Question: has anyone done any calculations to which woods produce the best/most gas and how much per/lb per/surface area?? I am a serious inventor interested in this technology!

  • The guy at "gengas . se" is good at calculations of systems. There are tables avalible for dimensioning. Hard woods are the best to use.

  • How can I get design specs to build a gasier?

Your videos show units built by pros years ago.

Have a 1968 65 hp Massey Ferguson tractor (diesel) and mitsubishi pick up ready to convert

    screw this biodiesel bullshit.

If I grow corn, it's to eat.

  • please tell us what filter system you use? thanks again

  • Is this a diesel tractor

Is it dual fuel, can it still use diesel and gas ?

how do you introduce that gas to the engine can we see another video or website or yahoos woodgas goup.

I would love to see a basic single cylinder cheap chinese diesel engine running on woodgas

  • I would love to see a woodgas powered electric generator. Can this also work on small 10HP motors?

  • Sure! You adjust the dimensions for the gasifier depending on how big the engine is.

  • If you search on the net there is a picture of a woodgas motorcycle so it can be done.

  • i think that i fyou could make any stationary power plant it would be great.i wonder how cardboard would work?
