The R8 sound "used" in GT5 is stolen from a Porsche 996 in NEED FOR SPEED: Porsche Unleashed (2000). It's the exact SAME SOUND! Just check it out. I knew that sound came so familiar. It confirms the myth that Polyphony did no improvement on the sound whatsoever. You just learned something new today. Sony, pure evil.

This is one of the only reasons, why I like Forza Motorsport better. Car sounds DOES make a big difference. Cant believe that POLYPHONY doesn't realise that they have an audience that is a little wider than those 10 year old kids, who dont give a flying F about the sound. What? You didnt have the time to make the cars sound like cars? Oh okay, sure.

The cars in GT5 better not sound as bad as they do in Prologue. Forza 3 might not be as photo-realistic as GT5, but at least they got the majority of the sounds right.

But the last gt's were like that so if your a gt player you should be used to it. Atleast its not some nfs wack ass sound effects with a bov as loud as a train horn

it sounds like polyphony digital just took the car sound of it idleling then sped it up for the revs and it sounds a bit tacky like the ferrari f2007 sounds good downshifting and shiftin but around 18000 revs it sounds tacky and in the corvette i want to hear the roar of that V8 and i barely hear anything

@Lemans15 I used to think the same thing. but if you can buy the acr viper and fully tune it....it sounds like thunder. and i have a fully tuned ford gt (no stripe) and it also sounds godly. these are the only 2 v8's so far that sound real. hopely they make them sound like that in the future

Wow, PD still can't produce good car sounds. None of those cars sound accurate at all, they all sound synthesized. Even worse is that when they record real cars, they record them in neurtal, with no load. An engine free reving sounds WAY different than an engine in gear under load. The skyline sounds nothing like an RB engine, I'd know, I drive an RB every day. Once again, they make a game about cars, with very few accurate or compelling car sounds.

Lastima, viendolo asi casi todos suenan igual..... es muy poca la diferencia. Forza 2 tiene menos nivel de graficos pero el sonido es un poco mas real. Aclaro....I love Gran Turismo
