There were some heavy religious overtones in this ep. Princess gets crucified and rejects ancestor worship at the end. Made me notice for the first time that Voltron has a cross on his chest and that a blazing sword is the defender of the Garden of Eden after the fall.

Actually, both series are pretty similar to the Super Sentai series in Japan that started in the 70's and continues today. That's where Power Rangers got most of it's footage.

You guys are idiots. Power Rangers is not a rip off from Voltron. Power Rangers comes from Japanese footage called Super Sentai which has been around since the 70's.

Even if Power Rangers was based off footage from the 70's, the actual show did not hit American TV until the late 90's. The shows both could have come from this footage you are talking about. I do not know if that is true or not, but they are very similar.

atom57 I just got a chance to look up the info. The producers of Super Sentai also produced a show called GoLion and Dairugger XI. Voltron was based on GoLion and Dairugger XI. These shows came from the same source. This explains why the shows are similar. Mystery solved.
