I'd love to make this for my boyfriends little sister's birthday...But I'm not sure if I can find anything during the winter ^_^;; I may attempt to cleanse it. [I'll have to do it at there house...mostly cause I gave the sage I had to them, it was too strong for me and gave me a headache] anyway awesome dream catcher!
@wolfbushcraft ah, Well I've made it, I just used clay then used hemp to go around it and for hte strring in the middle...I think it came out pretty well
@wolfbushcraft Well, I just recently turned 18, so I don't think my Mom can ground me anymore.. Haha, but seriously, I'm not sure what you mean by being 'grounded', this is the first I've ever thought about doing something like this. Sorry for all the questions.
@GuitarKylePlays grounded means, your minds clear, focused on your intentions..not idle chit chat going on in your head.etc..you might find useful info if you google shamanism, and smudging and cleansing..
nice art grimbo,i see you like the native american culture,i am of native bloodline part of the erie nation also known as the cat nation and still live in the same area of land my ancestors lived and died on.
@wolfbushcraft does it matter if you use materials that are store bought like in a crafts store? I'm debating after watching your video whether I want to do like you did or use store bought things to make it more pretty. A little bit of reason would help my decision, but is there any one way or the other?
@GuitarKylePlays i can only say,it depends on the person..i like natural products untouched by others, but a store brought one could be cleansed etc,and still hold meaning,as withthe store materials, let me know if this helps..
Great Video Grimbo!! the use of natural materials was great. loved the finnished product. and here is the answer to your question......The spider honored the people, it allowed us the comfort of a good night sleep. It taught us how to make the Dreamcatcher to protect our children as they slept.
The spider does not kill the bad dreams Grimbo The Dreamcatcher was begun by the Ojib people to hang over their babies cradle boards & the good dreams pass thru the holes in the webbing while the bad dreams get stuck on the webbing...in the morning when the sun shines it burns off the bad dreams from the webbing....assuring that the babies will have only good dreams.
