  • i love ultimate

  • It looks like David vs Goliath

  • seems hard :s

  • I live in Washington DC. A group us play this game on the National Mall every Saturday afternoon, right infront of the National Art Gallery. So much fun!!

  • One day that stadium will be full.

  • they all play terrible defense.

  • @thunderoad005 they r only showing when they score points though not the whole game.

  • I'm drifting . . . drifting . . . dr-iiiiii-fting . . . to sleep.

    SNOoOoOoOoOoRE . . . wee-wee-wee-wee-wee-wee-wee-wee-wee-wee.

  • man, frisbee is the best game ever.

  • @dc1534 people who play call it ultimate. my coach hates it when people call it frisbee

  • disc.

  • usa so much taller

  • Japan plays a crappy zone

  • Check out.......ultimate spinnerdisk.........the newest and latest invention for Frisbee Sport. Catch it by the handle for fast decisive action......or catch it spinning in your hand. Change the way Extreme Frisbee is played..........

  • USA has a huge height advantage that Japan is trying to nullify by junk zone D. Japan is very quick, so man D misses will lead to cascades of break mark throws. USA has to really pick their shots to force turnovers because Japan is a very strong handling team when they get a break.

  • basically everytime you catch its a travel, no one trys on d and the Japanese call everything in CANT WAIT TO BE PRO!!

  • kinda confused i've watched all the US vs some country vids in this series, the D never looks like theyre trying. the second it goes up and their man gets a foot in front of them they start jogging my high school league games have more intensity that than....wtf... i understand sometimes its blatantly obvious that you're man is gonna get it, but on a lot of occasions it was still slightly possible to get a D... and these guys are good athletes whats it matter to them another 2 secs of sprinting

  • @wantedsponge121 I agree, I feel like the Florida Gators team could beat both here.

  • @wantedsponge121 It's more about stopping continuation of the flow and containing the disc. Usually, you don't go for the D attempt unless you're at least 25% sure that you're going to get it. Because if you bid on a questionable disc and miss, you're going to give up a bunch of break force throws and very possibly the score. Japan default defense looks like a junk zone with a lot of poaching off, their main concern is stopping the breakforce and putting a lot of pressure on the huck.

  • @wantedsponge121 Well, this is coed--nothing against these women, they are world class athletes for sure--but it never has the intensity (heck, maybe the word is ego) as open.

Also, playing D at this level is a lot like playing O; you don't throw--or on D, bid--at everything you could probably throw to or D, because your man is wide open if you miss, and these teams take advantage of stuff like that really well. 100% throws; 100%bids.

  • Japanees need better coverage and watch the fakes its like football and pasing in the game of basket ball with a disk.

  • Looks hard to defend

  • Man they make it look easy. Beautiful to watch. Nice spirit too - love the fact that still no refs

  • @bf72 Ultimate is a gentelman's game. So we don't need refs.

  • Beau is a beast plan and simple

  • No deep! No deep!

  • who's that annoyingly loud guy screaming out at the team... he's kind of a retard...

  • one of those players are my coach :D

  • I LOVE THIS GAME!! Cheers from Costa Rica guys! Don't miss out on the volcanic tournament this next fourth of July!

volcanic tournament do t com cya in tropical paradise! (tropical rain forests, active volcano near by, cheap beer and ultimate, could you ask for more?)

  • Gosh i play high school and those pulls/hucks are soooooo long compared to an average game at my level. Is it just me or both teams kinda lacked on d? And these announcers suck hahaha

  • @IndyNation10 Yeah they both do lack really tight D, but if you think about it, if they were doing full D they'd be doing full sprints for the full game, and neither team would have energy to score

  • @IndyNation10 and plus there don't seem to be many subs at all

  • @Mexral The "Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE" throw really was very bad. If it's floating long enough for several defenders to get there and especially if then your guy is not the tallest of the pack, you shouldn't throw it (i.e. you should do a better throw :) ).

I kind of agree that you should always catch it but I don't think that was a bad D the way it was pulled off.

  • i played that in middle school, haha i was pro in that game

  • Hey looks like a fun game :).

  • @omegavalerius

omg i as gonna make fun of it until the first touch down >< i didnt even think a fresbe can be fun

  • I disagree, I think that the "Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE" throw wasn't that bad. Its only fault was a little floating in a bad location but they are professionals and they do enjoy that sort of leniency with their throws. And the D made by the US team was not a good D at all. He shouldn't have hit it like that, he should have caught it. You always catch your D at very least you have to ground it.

  • @Mexral the throw wasn't bad, but that was a very good D. You don't always catch your D. If he had caught it he would have had the stall started on him while in the end-zone with most of his team still up field. He recognized that that was the only way that he could hit it away being that far behind his mark and saw that there wouldn't be anyone there to make a play on it.

  • Terrible mark by Japan at 3:54.

Good field vision by US at 4:04.

Terrible throw by Japan at 6:02 plus good D by US.

Terrible, terrible, TERRIBLE throw at 6:59.

    Beautiful forehand at 7:18.

    Travel at 8:47.

Dangerous hammer at 9:08, but made it look easy.

  • Wow I said "terrible" a lot in this comment.

    Anyway, truth remains.
