is there any way to make your messages from friends like a chat instead of individual text messages? kind of like the texts you get from a blackberry?
evryone that said caller id is not showing up its because you have to pay for it with a bundle like voicemail with caller id and 3 way calling for $10
It's not the best phone, but it's what I expected for a phone of that price. And I'm not really into Blackberry's so I'm definitely getting this phone! :)
@EviliciousKittyRox it's an excellent texting phone! I loved it because of the facebook application, and the full keyboard. I also loved the avatar screen that you could enable.

My dad recently got a new phone and when we bought it, they set it up (we got it at future shop :D) and he had to pay every month to have voicemail and caller id. I think it was like 6 dollars a month extra to have it. So i tink maybe that is your prooblem. I know my friend had an lg rumor 2 and she was with solo and she didnt have caller id either.. hope this helped :D

does this phone have a flashing red light if you miss a call? or at least a chime or vibration every once in a while until you notice? my current phone doesn't have any light or notification, you have to open it to see if you missed a call.

LOLL you can simply edit your screen settings so that it doesn't appear on your home screen. Go to Settings/Screen/Screen Theme/My Wallpaper and then just edit the settings to 'don't show' for the time and date so that they don't appear on your home screen. Hope that helped some. :)
does this phone have conversations one the same page? like does it show what the person said and then what you said too? basically no separate inbox and sent folder
I'm having troubles transferring videos to my LG gossip and I don't know why. I click and drag the videos that I want to transfer into the videos folder on my pc, but when I look in the videos folder on my phone, they're not there? I seem to have no problem transferring sounds, music, and pictures, but the videos just won't transfer. What could be the problem?
@violettjules The phone comes with free msn app. I have never paid for it.. But this maybe be conflicting, because other users have told me that they have to to add a social network plan in order to use the plan. The unlimited network plan is 5.00 I believe..which is worth it to uses msn, twitter and facebook for a month unlimited.

Yes, shannon it is true. there is a button on the phone next to the 'call' button, and you can click it and switch between sending a text, listening to mp3's or whatever other applications you previously opened. Also I just found out I can create playlists on the phone for my mp3.~ spent the morning on the bus making a Kings of Leon and Black keys playlist lol.
1. tthe battery life is AMAZING. I have gone days without charging this phone, but then again I have to say I spend about 3 hours a day on my phone the rest is spent texting or on facebook. I alwayd forget to bring my charger when I'm spending a few days away from home, because I seldom need to charge it.

@b1njjj95 2. 2. The BEST thing about the gossip, you can click and drag docs, music and pics and use the mp3's from your computer to the phone . And you never have to purchase ringtones, becausse you can use the mp3's off your phone directly.
3. you can surf the internet (NO wi-fi) I google things all the time, and go on facebook A LOT, And you can go on youtube and see thumbnails of videos, the pickle is when you try to play them it says error.

@khutekyd13 you should sign up from facebook for the mobile connect, that way you get a number that you send a text to and it will post it directly to your facebook page. Also if you want to update your status, you text to that same number and it'll update it all from your phone.
this phone sucks. ive had it for 4 months and am switching to either an iphone or a blackberry bold. before i had it i read the reviews and everyone said how its not worth it but i didnt listen and i got it anyways. what a mistake. terrible with multi tasking, SO many glitches, buttons are really loud and annoying. i constantly have to take the battery in and out cause of the glitches. it randomly shuts off.. overall its pretty crappy. save yourself the stress and dont get it haha
@kittenfinder , i have this phone and have never experienced any of ur complaints. I haven't had 1 glitch, multitasking is very good for me. The phone has never just randomly shut off, the sound is very good/great. and the loud buttons u can silence the keyboard in settings. Personally I thk u just want an iphone or blackberry b/c their the popular phones right now, and everyone wants to be like the Jones or whoever u worship. Which is fine also.
@brntreat im not talking about the sound the phone makes when you press the buttons im talking about the actual clicky noise. when im in the car everyones lookin at me cause its so loud when i text. a few of my friends had this phone and switched and are much happier now with a different phone. ahahahaha.. i dont care about brands and popularity in a phone i care about something thats reliable... a phone that has a better reputation than LG

1. i have never had any glitches with this phone; which means you probably had a cellular lemon..
2. the buttons can all be muted, my phone doesn't beep, chime, or make any sound when i press the keypad buttons or even send a text.
3. the phone is excellent for multi-tasking because it has a button solely for parking the different applications you have open, that you can go back and forth between.
of course an iphone and blackberry would be better!!! Good luck though :)

@steechikoka24 Hey, go to the messages-->open the 'inbox' --->highlight one of your messages and select 'options' there should be an option for general view or threaded view. Select the threaded view and it will changes the text format so it will shows your messages between you and your contacts like an actual convo.! good luck.

@HighhMaintenance I don't know if you've made up your mind by now, but I have had the phone for seven months now, and it has given me no problems, I go one FB I use the MSN messenger, I text I make calls.. I listen to the fm radio.. The only problems I can really give you is that 1. the camera cannot be silenced.. So no sneaky photos of people dressed like they are crazy when I'm Yorkdale.. and 2. sometimes the call quality gets muffled not always and not often but it does happen..
I just bought this phone yesterday and it is really bad. The phone takes up to 30 seconds just to power on.The speaker is very hard to hear even with all of the volume settings turned up all the way. A speakerphone mode is available to correct the volume problem, but then everyone around you can listen in on the conversation, so it is not a perfect solution.The reception is poor and the sound quality sucks big time.I'm returning it today for a blackberry 8520 instead.
@delici0usGurl I think you just had a bad experience, hopefully you to the crap phone back to Fido. I use the speaker when I'm in the car driving and people on the other end can hear me just fine... I think the sound quality is great I play it out loud in the car with my friends when we want to listen to Wiz Khalifa Black and Yellow ..which sadly is more often than the radio stations will play it.. In retrospect, Blackberry has wi-fi which makes it a winner on that alone. good luck

I got my LG Gossip for Xmas (so just a few days) and I'm still getting a hang of it. My question is tho, is the MSN thing free or do I have to pay for it? @franco1014 Franco the phone has two oblong circular buttons on the left and right side of the ok button. the power button is the red telephone receiver that is upside down on the right. the little brackets below it with the line in the middle is a pretty standard symbol for "power on/off" just hold it down for a second and then let go and your phone will power on.
@xJumpToStartx The Fido is free to use. The only problem is that that I think for newer subscribers you will have to add a IM plan (5.00 a month) or a data plan. I still use mine for free..but a few people on here said they could not without adding a plan. This is something you might want to clear up with Fido.
@nimabhatti this is obviously a software or hardware glitch, bring it back to Fido. My phone has never shut off on me yet, and I have had it for a very long time.
@ballshooter44 The phone comes with a USB charger. What i mean by that is that it can plug into the wall, but the cord that is attached to the charger head can be removed and used as a usb to connect your phone to the computer.
@hockeyNmusic16 The phone comes with a few demos games and also some pre-loaded ones. You can open the browser and get new games, but your cheapest option is to suscribe to Gameloft. For 5.00 a month you get 3 games and you can text them to unsuscribe at any time. Just makesure that the game is compatible with the LG Gossip before you purchase it.
@adankovinich have you added any mp3's that you can use for ringtones?
To change a ringtone. Go to 'Media', then go to (2) 'Sounds', go to default or shuffle through your own uploaded mp3's., go to 'options' and select 'use as' and you will see ringtone option.

Can you connect it to your computer and drag on pictures from your desktop? Right now I have an LG neon I am wondering if its worth the switch to this phone. Is talking ok with it too?
@MysticQT yes, you can the features are not that different from the neon. You just have to select 'mass storage' when you plug it into your computer instead of PC Suite.
@daydreamergirl85 Hey sorry for the late reply. I have it on prepaid, and I use the Msn for free, but I was one of the first people to get it, before I assume they made changes. It may not be free anymore. You may have to add an IM package 5.00/month for unlimited IM to use the msn..but it is worth it.
@579films the facebook app is available, but Fido disabled for some reason. The phone is great I have no problems..but again at least 5 people now have complained that sometimes the phone has poor call quality. you can access FB from the web..it's easy and you can use FB with no problems.
@579films The gossip origianlly came with a FB app, I don't know why Fido removed it..most likely it had something to do with them making more money, because you'd have to connect to the internet to get on FB without an app.

@jb455 No wifi, the camera is meh, I had better resolution on my Lg Shine (including a flash with the cam). the biggest one a few ppl complain about it the call quality sometimes is poor.
other than that I have no complaints, the price is amazing for what you get, FM radio, a really good mp3 player, threaded text, also you can use your mp3's as ringtones, so you don't have to purchase any unless you want to.
you dont need to buy a data plan I just usse it to talk and text

So far I am LUVIN' my new Gossip! Just got it like 3 hours ago but it's great. I got it basically for free through Tbooth (Fido). Fido offers a $40 credit if you were referred ($20 for your account and $20 for the person who referred), also there is NO activation fee ($35 is waived), I also got a free skin and 1 year service plan through Tbooth. All I had to sign up for was a 2 year plan and I'm cool with that. Totally worth it and I love the little characters on the homescreen <3

1. tthe battery life is AMAZING. I have gone days without charging this phone, but then again I have to say I spend about 3 hours a day on my phone the rest is spent texting or on facebook. I alwayd forget to bring my charger when I'm spending a few days away from home, because I seldom need to charge it.

1. Well that's great! I was afraid the battery life would be shit and would be an inconvenience. I spend a lot of time texting and I hate it when I have to end a juicy convo just because my battery's about to die.
2. Really? That sounds like fun. I bet it would be even more fun if I were to use my tablet to click and drag items to my phone from my PC. That's great that I don't have to buy ringtones (never did in the first place, I would always just convert songs into mp3s)

@b1njjj95 2. 2. The BEST thing about the gossip, you can click and drag docs, music and pics and use the mp3's from your computer to the phone . And you never have to purchase ringtones, becausse you can use the mp3's off your phone directly.
3. you can surf the internet (NO wi-fi) I google things all the time, and go on facebook A LOT, And you can go on youtube and see thumbnails of videos, the pickle is when you try to play them it says error.

@khutekyd13 you should sign up from facebook for the mobile connect, that way you get a number that you send a text to and it will post it directly to your facebook page. Also if you want to update your status, you text to that same number and it'll update it all from your phone.

this phone sucks. ive had it for 4 months and am switching to either an iphone or a blackberry bold. before i had it i read the reviews and everyone said how its not worth it but i didnt listen and i got it anyways. what a mistake. terrible with multi tasking, SO many glitches, buttons are really loud and annoying. i constantly have to take the battery in and out cause of the glitches. it randomly shuts off.. overall its pretty crappy. save yourself the stress and dont get it haha

@kittenfinder , i have this phone and have never experienced any of ur complaints. I haven't had 1 glitch, multitasking is very good for me. The phone has never just randomly shut off, the sound is very good/great. and the loud buttons u can silence the keyboard in settings. Personally I thk u just want an iphone or blackberry b/c their the popular phones right now, and everyone wants to be like the Jones or whoever u worship. Which is fine also.

@brntreat im not talking about the sound the phone makes when you press the buttons im talking about the actual clicky noise. when im in the car everyones lookin at me cause its so loud when i text. a few of my friends had this phone and switched and are much happier now with a different phone. ahahahaha.. i dont care about brands and popularity in a phone i care about something thats reliable... a phone that has a better reputation than LG

1. i have never had any glitches with this phone; which means you probably had a cellular lemon..
2. the buttons can all be muted, my phone doesn't beep, chime, or make any sound when i press the keypad buttons or even send a text.
3. the phone is excellent for multi-tasking because it has a button solely for parking the different applications you have open, that you can go back and forth between.
of course an iphone and blackberry would be better!!! Good luck though :)

@steechikoka24 Hey, go to the messages-->open the 'inbox' --->highlight one of your messages and select 'options' there should be an option for general view or threaded view. Select the threaded view and it will changes the text format so it will shows your messages between you and your contacts like an actual convo.! good luck.

@HighhMaintenance I don't know if you've made up your mind by now, but I have had the phone for seven months now, and it has given me no problems, I go one FB I use the MSN messenger, I text I make calls.. I listen to the fm radio.. The only problems I can really give you is that 1. the camera cannot be silenced.. So no sneaky photos of people dressed like they are crazy when I'm Yorkdale.. and 2. sometimes the call quality gets muffled not always and not often but it does happen..

I just bought this phone yesterday and it is really bad. The phone takes up to 30 seconds just to power on.The speaker is very hard to hear even with all of the volume settings turned up all the way. A speakerphone mode is available to correct the volume problem, but then everyone around you can listen in on the conversation, so it is not a perfect solution.The reception is poor and the sound quality sucks big time.I'm returning it today for a blackberry 8520 instead.

@delici0usGurl I think you just had a bad experience, hopefully you to the crap phone back to Fido. I use the speaker when I'm in the car driving and people on the other end can hear me just fine... I think the sound quality is great I play it out loud in the car with my friends when we want to listen to Wiz Khalifa Black and Yellow ..which sadly is more often than the radio stations will play it.. In retrospect, Blackberry has wi-fi which makes it a winner on that alone. good luck

I got my LG Gossip for Xmas (so just a few days) and I'm still getting a hang of it. My question is tho, is the MSN thing free or do I have to pay for it? And I don't know if this is depending on my plan but sending pictures via text message, is that free? Oh yeah, and I can't figure out how to put music in the MP3 section of the phone...

good vid , but this phone is crap and its worse than my razr V3 like i just dnt get that its a messaging phone but when it exceeds 60 msgs the messaging app starts to get laggy and its driving me nuts it purposely drops calls and everytime im txtin or if im on the web it shuts off for no aprrent reason and anyways this phone is the worst phone ever , ha to think i actually like this phone , all of my friends hate ther lg gossip too , dont buy this phone , youll regret it !!!

@franco1014 Franco the phone has two oblong circular buttons on the left and right side of the ok button. the power button is the red telephone receiver that is upside down on the right. the little brackets below it with the line in the middle is a pretty standard symbol for "power on/off" just hold it down for a second and then let go and your phone will power on.

Just in case anyone was wondering how to turn the key tones off of their Gossip...
"Settings"> "Profiles"> "Normal", then go to "options"> "edit", scroll down to "key tone" and select "no sound" and finally "done". :)

@xJumpToStartx The Fido is free to use. The only problem is that that I think for newer subscribers you will have to add a IM plan (5.00 a month) or a data plan. I still use mine for free..but a few people on here said they could not without adding a plan. This is something you might want to clear up with Fido.

@ballshooter44 The phone comes with a USB charger. What i mean by that is that it can plug into the wall, but the cord that is attached to the charger head can be removed and used as a usb to connect your phone to the computer.

@hockeyNmusic16 The phone comes with a few demos games and also some pre-loaded ones. You can open the browser and get new games, but your cheapest option is to suscribe to Gameloft. For 5.00 a month you get 3 games and you can text them to unsuscribe at any time. Just makesure that the game is compatible with the LG Gossip before you purchase it.

To change a ringtone. Go to 'Media', then go to (2) 'Sounds', go to default or shuffle through your own uploaded mp3's., go to 'options' and select 'use as' and you will see ringtone option.

@daydreamergirl85 Hey sorry for the late reply. I have it on prepaid, and I use the Msn for free, but I was one of the first people to get it, before I assume they made changes. It may not be free anymore. You may have to add an IM package 5.00/month for unlimited IM to use the msn..but it is worth it.

@579films the facebook app is available, but Fido disabled for some reason. The phone is great I have no problems..but again at least 5 people now have complained that sometimes the phone has poor call quality. you can access FB from the web..it's easy and you can use FB with no problems.

@579films The gossip origianlly came with a FB app, I don't know why Fido removed it..most likely it had something to do with them making more money, because you'd have to connect to the internet to get on FB without an app.

@cyatt5 yeah it's weird. I went through that! you can dial your voicemail when you see the missed call voice mail prompt on the screen.
The easiest thing to do is dial your own cell phone number from your cellphone or another phone.. you will hear the voicemail prompts right away.

HEYYY ive had this phone for 3 months with fido and its going greattttt but id like to know how/what to buy to get free internet acess.I have the 25dollar plan with fido ,an agreement of 2 yeers and i wanna browse the net and acces facebook without having the annoying fee page pop up( the one that states the prices or a day/weekmonth to browse the web) what shoud i do ??subscribe and how???? thxxxx for the help:)

The add on $3/week makes no sense, if you do it that way and if you end up using that plan every week you end up paying 12 dollars for a month, when you could just get the $10 dollar unlimited monthly plan.
If you only plan on uuing it occasionally then the $1//day plan is your best bet,. it's unlimited for 24 hours. and you can only pay for it on a day you really need like say if you plan on using the browser once a week while you are out on the road or something

@jb455 No wifi, the camera is meh, I had better resolution on my Lg Shine (including a flash with the cam). the biggest one a few ppl complain about it the call quality sometimes is poor.
other than that I have no complaints, the price is amazing for what you get, FM radio, a really good mp3 player, threaded text, also you can use your mp3's as ringtones, so you don't have to purchase any unless you want to.

SO... about the personal character and how you can chage it, apparently no one knows. I posted a thread on fido and LGs site and nothing. Called tonight in Canada and they are going to look into it and get back to me. I'll post back if I find anything out but other than this one annyoying thing the phone is awesome!

So far I am LUVIN' my new Gossip! Just got it like 3 hours ago but it's great. I got it basically for free through Tbooth (Fido). Fido offers a $40 credit if you were referred ($20 for your account and $20 for the person who referred), also there is NO activation fee ($35 is waived), I also got a free skin and 1 year service plan through Tbooth. All I had to sign up for was a 2 year plan and I'm cool with that. Totally worth it and I love the little characters on the homescreen <3
