My great grandfather and his brother were killed in Normandy 1916-1917, with the Worcestershire Regeriment. My gran was a little girl of 7 when her father and Uncle died R.I.P all those killed in the war, especially Private FRED CARR!!!!
@levanyzzuf you don't really know how much has been edited - the programme is about Ian, they (the programme makers) want him saying more than his family
I agree - how can you take a consecrated building and do that? Surely they could have remodeled - donated the pulpit ,pews, stained glass windows to a church?I've no objection at all to a pub, just change the building to be suitable...
True enough, there is a process to deconsecrate and is done many times when a congregation sells it's church and moves elsewhere. But as Ian describes it as a "theme pub", the interior has retained too much of the look of a church, that's truly what's incongruous is all.
Yes they do FACTUNTHJU. I was thinking the same thing. Don't know why you've been given 6 thumbs down just saying that. His family are clearly very disinterested in Hislops stupid old Grandad and his war stories. And rightly so. I'm actually bored to tears now and thinking of not continuing to watch to find out the rest of his thus far terribly boring old history.
I dont think his kids and wife are used to being filmed is what it is, Ian is as he is on Have I Got News For You and is used to the camera.

It's funny how completely unresponsive his wife and kids are. They seem totally bored.

For a church to end up as a pub it would have be deconsecrated before they even put the bar in.

@imaof4 That pub really does seem a desecration of that church.

@imaof4 I think it's brilliant, but a strip club would have been better.
