  • the ringing sound is being broadcast on the mind chanel to sell tinnitus meds. just to test it sheld your head inside a micro wave oven and the sound will stop and you will know that you don't have it.

  • I've had surgery, I've used a hearing aid, but now I have a tinnimasker and once I got used to the sound of falling water, my life has become much better.

  • i also have tinnitus for 2 years now. You have to change the way you think to be able to live with it. Not let the depressing thoughts get to you and take over.

It's hard, but possible. i recommend Neurofeedback treatment. it really saved my life.

    Time also helps.

oh, and a white noise machine at night. a must for me.

If you are really interested in curing your tinnitus, I strongly suggest that you read the following post. It led me to heal my tinnitus once and for all.

  • Curing tinnitus can be relatively easy. If you can identify an underlying cause, it's simply a matter of remedying that particular problem, and the tinnitus should go away on its own. If the cause of tinnitus isn't known, however, it can be more difficult to treat.

The cause of tinnitus can be something as simple as an ear wax blockage in the ear, or something more complex, such as the growth of a bony mass on the cochlea.

  • tinnitus always went away for me when I lived off grid in remote wilderness

  • I shouldn't even have tinnitus. Am I old? No. Did I cause it from loud noise? No. Was it because of aspirin? Never had it.

What caused *my* ringing? Medication from a doctor.

  • for me i have it because my spine was squishhing the fluid between each bone in it.

  • I have had severe tinnitus for 6 months. It is becoming the curse of my life. Nothing is the same anymore.

  • @back2theoldskool im am going to try a 90 day holistic treatment for tinnitus if it works i will let you know it is called t gone

  • plus this was made YEARS ago - there has been advancements since then - most reduce noise levels by 60% which is better than " just live with it" that doctors say

  • LOL thanks suit man - get an alarm clock that ticks real loud to "Block out" the RINGING in my ear ( ur fucking hilarious NOT ) or a hearing aid that "produces a tinnitus noise" to block of tinnuitus ( again GENIUS ) - plus i hate more than anything a ticking clock in a silent room - plus there is a cure just not a medical one as the drugs industry wont fund it as its "not a money making" drug - same as a drug taht cures cancers they wont produce

  • @Tankurface y is it not a money making drug. If some company produces a drug that really cures tinnitus, it would earn millions from it!

  • I really hope I will be gone some day...

  • I know how you feel but it gets better. Even if the sound doesn't reduce it falls into the background more often and for longer periods. I don't even notice it most of the time these days even though, for me, it is a very loud piercing sound

  • I remember when I first got tinnitus 2 years ago, the sound was overwhelming. I felt suicidal and even planned to do myself in. Now 2 years later, I barely notice it. Only when I really pay attention to it or in a really quiet room do I hear it. Hang in there

  • @weepaul666 hi, that is a good news, i am having it for 2 month is hard to sleep at night how did you cope with it, thanks

  • We are not "malfunctioning," we need to learn to accept the body's warning signals and heed them.

  • The ideas of this doctor aren't accurate. Tinnitus can be caused by malfunctioning 'hairs' but can also be triggered outside of the ear inside of the brain.

It can also be scarring on the ear drum, according to my specialist. And a number of other causes inside or outside the ear.

There's no solution for all of these problems...

  • i think they r dude!!! well m not a doctor but it soundz right!!!!

  • Well, I'm certain there aren't. I've read up thoroughly on the subject and a striking number of cases of tinitus are not in the ear but in the nerve or even inside the brain. Even cutting the audio nerves from the ear to the brain would _not_ solve the tinitus.

The only solution to that is a bullet to the head. And I only recommend that to very, very annoying people.

Other cases of tinitus can sometimes be fixed by a surgeon. But definately don't get your hopes up... Usually it's incurable.

  • Many incidents of tinnitus are caused by very common things like Eustachian tube dysfunction, allergies, fluid in the ears,. I understand in these instances the tinnitus is almost always relieved because those underlying causes can be treated successfully?

  • Hmmm - I'm afraid it's not that simple. If the problem causes an inflammation inside the ear the hairs that trigger the nerve-impulses in the ear can get damaged. If they are damaged, there's no way to repair them. That is one of the causes for tinnitus.

So even if you remove the inflammation or treat the allergy, the damage can already have been done and there's no turning that back, unfortunately.

  • I agree with what you're saying regarding hair cell damage, I should have clarified - not all cases of tinnitus are from hair cell damage I should have said. Tiniitus is a very generic term for perceived sounds, its not a disease but a symptom. In the case of hair damage it is difficult to cure at this time, but mircosurgery and regenerative technology is getting better all the time....In time my friend....Best wishes.

  • My guess is early 90's. Not 80's though...as I understand it, the medical stance hasn't changed since this video...or has it?

  • Nope, it hasn't. I've had all the tests in the last half year and I can say for sure that we know what it is, but there's no way to fix it yet.

Indeed, most likely it's the hair cells which are damaged and thus create erroneous signals. The scans and tests show that the parts of my hearing which are damaged actually create the tinitus.

Hopefully someday we can surgically fix these haircells, but we're far far away from that point in time...

  • Cure is the road. Not masking. Not learning to deal with it. Start with conditions you know you can cure and move forward. Howard Torman, I'd love to interview you and find out why you've chosen the path of "there is no cure, learn to live with it." Why have you done that?

  • How old is this video? It looks old.
