Thanks for uploading this great song from a great band. They should have been far more successful as the quality of both of their albums is exceptionallly high. I have both albums on mp3, but can't find this version (the single version) online at all. Anyone out there got it in a decent bitrate?
Saw these guys live in the Chicago suburbs in 1980. Bought (and still love) their first two albums. I think Don Snow started with them on keyboards, then went to Squeeze (or vice versa). The bass player is Blair Cunningham, who went on to play with Haircut 100, the Pretenders and many more. I think he even played with Chicago local, Dustin Parker way back when. "Disappearing," is still a fave among folks from that area (and I think was pretty well received, critically).
I used to have this album but it was stolen - anyone know where I can get it? Never saw them Live, used to cover one of their songs years ago. It's not even on Spotify
For vinyl, maybe ebay. For the tracks in mp3 format, there's a few blogs that offer them for free. They put them on rapidshare in a RAR file. You have to download the RAR file and use 7-Zip to extract the mp3 files from the RAR file. If a password is needed by 7-Zip to do the extraction, the blogs will tell you what it is. Sometimes another format instead of RAR is used, but RAR is the most common. Whichever blog you use will give you instructions.
Brilliant. They were even better live and this song always got the crowd singing along. I saw them at the hope 'n' anchor in 79 and they were OK then I saw them at the Bridgehouse in June 1980 and it was incredible - they'd improved a hell of a lot - it's the same old story where the second album just creeps out because of contract reasons and then they're dropped - it could have been so different if they'd been allowed to grow - Pet rock (and the singles just before it) is a classic.

Good song, well-played - these guys probably should have been bigger.

One of the best pop bands ever. Didn't get the recognition they deserved.

Actually, the bassist is Ron Francois, who went on to play bass for the Eurogliders. Ron & Blair do look kind of alike.
