I got mine. It's not so bad. It hurts after you get them for at least 3 days, then it's ok. But if you need spacers, it's hard to eat cuz it hurts!

Braces don't hurt when u get them on but like 4 hours after u do they hurt like hell but if u take aspirin and try not to focus too much on them u will be fine! I've had mine for about a year and I've gotten really used to them

I have had braces for two weeks and I love them. The didn't hurt at all but after a week I tried to eat foods that I couldn't just swallow and it hurts a bit. Some days one or two teeth will hurt but don't listen to your friends who tell you it hurts like hell cos it doesn't but it probably also depends on how bad your teeth are.

I have braces, and it was definitely not as bad as I thought! People go on and on about it hurting, and it doesn't hurt when you get them on, and after a few hours it starts to hurt, but you take pain medicine and it's gone. I noticed results within a month, and I'm close to getting them off!

@RedManiac1231 nah, getting them done doesnt hurt one bit. you can feel tugging, but no pain. when you come to eating, your teeth might ache, but just get a paracetemol (or whatever they're called) :)

Here's the whole story: I got two teeth pulled a week ago ( which they numbed and only hurt for the rest of the day) I then got my braces 7 hours ago... It didn't hurt at all! But as the time goes by your teeth gradually get more pain, it's not terrible it's more like a annoying pain, from what I hear it should hurt a ton in the morning.... Overall I think the whole thing is one big over exaggeration, It will be ok all you people about to get them put on!

Seriously guys, it's not as bad as you think. I got my top braces a little over a year ago, and I got my bottoms about 11 months ago. I was scared shitless getting them because everyone talked about how much it hurt and how much pain I would be in afterward. It didn't hurt AT ALL. And afterwards, the first thing I ate was a cookie and it didn't hurt, tightening only makes me a little sore- but I guess that depends on the person. Anyway, it's nothing to freak about

it depends on how bad your teeth are.if they're just a little crooked, then it probly wont hurt.Most of the time (if a tooth/more needs to be pulled) they usually numb you, so you won't feel anything.

@callyn3- Nope no shots. It won't be comfortable and your braces will seem like they're huge at first. The pain won't hit until a two or three days after, and for me the pain was some tenderness and soreness throughout the entirety of my gums. You'll get used to it within two weeks or so. Braces are a pain in the ass, but they're SO worth it. You'll have a killer smile! :) Good luck :)

the first few days are a little tough. take your medicine as prescribed. if braces fall off in the first few weeks either the opposing tooth was hitting on them or their was a little moisture on your tooth when they placed the brace which makes the glue not be as strong. before leaving the orthodontist office bite down and make sure you are touching tooth to tooth and not hitting tooth to brace. good luck.

@1drsuresmile i got braces in third grade and got them off in fourth grade but now i have to get braces again cuz my mom kept NOT taking me to the orthodontist to get my retainers fixed now i have to get braces again cuz my teeth got crooked AGAIN :( good luck to me again :P at least everybody else is getting braces now plus my buddy is also getting braces again like me i dont know what happened to make her to that but im scared to go through the whole process again!!!! lalalalala!
