  • Personally speaking, I don't favor this opinion. I'm from China, and I am really reluctant the restrictions from our government, and I admit the party did a lot bad things to the people. But as to the question of Tibet, I think it is just the ancient indians in North America, they will experience pain on the way to modern civilization.

  • The party is still doing bad things. The persecution of Falun Gong began in 1999 and is still continuing.

Pictures of HHDL were banned in 1996.

  • "and now you cannot even respond to this because your government has blocked you from even having access from You Tube. That is pathetic and sad. I feel sorry for all of you. I pray one day that China, all the people of China, will be free from the tyranny of the EVIL CCP!"

nuff said.. CCP using useless ultra nationalism to be tyrannical with the minorities in their nation and to foreigners..

  • The victims in all this are the Mongolians, Uighur, Tibetans, and many other people, including of course, the Chinese themselves.

  • Many people make the unfortunate mistake of mentally equating the PRC with the Chinese people. The PRC is a non-representative, single-party political entity which is currently controlling historical China (and more) through military conquest, and with an iron fist. For me, PRC =/= China in the political sense because it doesn't necessarily represent the majority of people living there. You have to ask yourself, who exactly do they represent then?

  • In fact, listen to every side you come across. Don't be naive though, none of them have to be 100% correct/virtuous/moral/etc. Having said that, I think the PRC has tried to confuse the issues more than anyone else so far.

  • I agree!

  • I agree with RisingChina. Listen to both sides, then make the right choice.

  • I think Tibetans who are free or brave enough to speak out is the best source of information. Things in Tibet are so bad there is no need for any exaggeration of what happens there.

  • Obviously they aren't terrified enough to give Tibet it's freedom. Of course, if most inhabitants of any Chinese province want to be free of the PRC, I'd like to see their freedom too. Otherwise the PRC is just tyranny. Thank goodness a lot of Chinese culture was saved from their hands, though only because of Hong Kong and Taiwan. I wish Tibet had been as lucky.

  • Listen to both sides, please.

  • Remember Tibetans in Tibet are not free to speak out.

  • ChinakillsNuns, you have a brain of an ant. Congratulations!

You have a very expressive name, exposing you bias and ignorance.

  • ----and your name suggests that you are falling for a lot of propaganda, but what about reality in China. China is rising at what cost and to whom? Do you really think you are not a projectionist?

  • I, an ordinary Chinese but not a real idealist, am not always happy with the government. I criticize my government and my people; and I also open up my mind to other government forms and cultures. Yet remember our differences: number one, I do not spread bias and hatred; number two, I see the problems in my government and people, like many others; number three, I feel excited about the progress our government and people have already made. You are a big propagandanist, irresponsible.

  • and now you cannot even respond to this because your government has blocked you from even having access from You Tube. That is pathetic and sad. I feel sorry for all of you. I pray one day that China, all the people of China, will be free from the tyranny of the EVIL CCP!

  • China's Central Propaganda Department cannot hide the truth from chinese and the world forever.

People in China can learn about the truth because they meet people who come from outside China. Or they travel abroad and see a MUCH better systems of government and freedoms that they do not have in china. Chinese people will talk to each other and their friends who have left China for good.

  • The chinese communist party (CCP) is struggling to hide the truth from chinese and the world, and needs assistance from the International Olympic Committee, Yahoo and other dodgy outfits.

  • 大清国 or Qing Dynasty ruled over China from 1644-1912. It was Manchu Rule, NOT Chinese. At the end of their rule, China and Tibet claimed independence. Therefore, Tibet was an independent country just like China in 1912. CCP invaded Tibet and took it militarily, and has occupied it since. Tibet is not part of China. Tibet is Tibet. Now we are getting into the true facts of the history of China. It seems that China has been occupied by foreign countries many times

  • get the fuck out here, i am manchurian. if i am not chinese, who will be? our ancesters repelled against Ming and took over mandate of heaven, ruled an empire including tibet. manchu emperor puyi ceded his country and territory in entirity to ROC. that's a imperial order. tibet belongs to ROC. bitch.

  • if you are tibetan, i'm sorry to use this kind of language. han chinese rule does have excess (e.g. grudges against dalai, cultural revolutions) which i don't like. i hope tibetan can live peacefully with hans just like old time.

but if you are non-tibetan, fuck you.

  • You said it: "ruled an empire including Tibet" PRC may rule Tibet now, but Tibet IS NOT China. Thanks for clearing that up. Sorry you don't have a country anymore.

  • lmao. u r scared of China

  • Why is Tibet under martial law?

  • It's amazing how Chinese are so scared of one mere man. I didn't realize the Dalai Lama was so powerful but he's obviously got the Chinese shaking in their boots! Why else would they be so worried about him?

Get over it China. You can control your population. You can control your own TV.

But you CAN NOT control everyone and you most certainly CAN NOT control the internet.

  • boleroz

dalai is plotting to carve 1/4 of china's territory away.

sovereignty is the issue here, hence china must defend her borders against all cost. dalai is nothing to be scared of he just need to be exposed, just like usa is exposing bin laden

  • goldenkey I don't recall any Tibetan ever flying an airplane into a Chinese building. Are you denying that tibet has it's own culture?

  • bolerooz

march riots were organized by tbegs, burning looting and killing han and hui ethnics.

tbegs did not fly airplanes because tbegs are too retarded to fly air planes. tbegs have no culture, if you disagree show me which universities in the west teach tbeg language as a foreign language. tbeg language is useless because tbegs have no culture worth studying !!!!!

  • Columbia University in New York teaches Tibetan language and culture. Also, there are numerous schools in India which teach the original Tibetan culture.

And I'd choose tibet over the evil chinese civilization anyday!

  • Military solutions are problems.

  • Until The CCP resolves the Tibetan conflict with dignity and justice, it will be like the Palestinian conflict and continue to erode the very fabric of China to bare fibers. Lies and torture will never work.
