Yesterday around 2:30AM the Durham Humane Society in Oshawa,ON was on fire. The fire killed at least 140 cats. It also killed some dogs and other animals too.

thats so sad, the humane society that i foster kittens from burned down this morning, 180 animals died. :'(

i had an firend that went there afterwards and he help recover the bodies he said the smell was so bad

Mostly, they'd have died of smoke inhalation before the fire got to them.

Damn. My eyes are so filled with tears I can hardly see to type.

I got my cat Inka there in 2002. I also volunteered there as well. I was devasted to hear what had happened.

in the walla walla area its the best place to be and theres a cat named halloween a tux cat,also it pains me to see this especially since i work at a shelter

It sucked. i live in walking distance to the humane society.. it was scary going to school the next day, my bus goes past it. it was horrible.

I came upon this video looking for animal videos. Those poor animals! I can't even watch the video knowing that there are animals inside. They have no way of opening the cages themselves and getting free - they were trapped. :'( :'( :'(

That's just so sad. Those animals that didn't make it didn't even have a chance being trapped in their kennels.

I adopted a cat from here very recently and am so sad for the loss of many animals and to the staff, who it was obvious to me, knew them and loved them. The firefighters reportedly went above and beyond to save as many animals as they could in this devastating fire. My heart is heavy.
