Chinese Water torture, is when a person is locked up to where the victim cannot move. Then cold water is slowly dripped one drop at a time (usually 1 drop every 6-14 seconds). It eventually drives the victim crazy A) (Because they are waiting for the drop each time B) Because they can't use their hands to wipe off the water or warm up their face from the cold water. This method of torture has no proof ever being used thought Hudini did try it out.
My dad got the chinese water torture once, basically how he did it was he was tied in my bath tub and we lowered the Shower head and dripped it slowly, we tied his hands to 2 poles that were sticking out of the ground, around an hour after he lost his focus and he just freaked out, The key to being okay with this is focus.

the torture comes from the fact that you cant think of anything else but the drip of water. Its constant. Your mind is trapped. You cannot distract yourself. You constantly are focused on it. But doing it for a little while will just be annoying to do it constantly, and when the person doesnt have rest from it, is what makes it true torture.

Your heart rate will increase, and all you can think about is the drip of the water, and they stimulate an area betwenn the eyes and above the nose that in oriental medicind is associated with the breath and mind. Ent doctors perform surgery on turbinates(structures in the nose) and some people go on to develop empty nose syndrome, there life is tortured, many commit suicide.

this isnt the chinese water torture, the chinese water torture is when they blind fold you and lay you on a angled table with your head near the floor and splash you with a lot of water and your body thinks you're drowning and makes your muscles spaz and go into some sort of seizure type state so it feels like you're dying but you don't.
I thought it was supposed to be 1 drop at a time, on the same exact spot, and it's not supposed to be random. Like if there are 2 second between the first 2 droplets of water, then it has to stay that way, and have 1 drop of water hit your head every 2 seconds.
@Balinar And I'll add that the time interval between the water drops has to vary because the human brain has the ability to time things and when its not timed, the waiting drives the sanity out of you.
you're supposed to let it drip from a faucet so it can land in the same place, not from a water bottle... especially considering that it takes hours for it to work... you need a source of a lot of water

Chinese water torture is when you get randomly dripped drops of water. The unpredictability of the water drops are what drive the person madd.
