  • Thanks, MrTrashcan1. I am fascinated by mechanical watches. Or as I call myself, I am an analog guy in a digital world!

  • I love watches!!! I own a Jaeger-LeCoultre Tourbillon so it is cool to see a clip with all these watches.

  • @chuckbuckbobuck Thanks. I just went on Google images and found as many images as I could on time pieces. Lots of cool stuff.

  • Great song! Much better than the song of the same title by Cyndi Lauper in 1984...Too bad mainstream FM oldies stations rarely play this and other 'lost classics' these days and one must subscribe to Sirius or another satellite music service to hear this and other 'lost classics'....

  • a great pop classic from Chris Montez.....love it!!.....thanks so much for sharing

  • Being a former DJ, I wish this song had been included in our station's more "mainstream" rotations. It got moderate airplay and enjoyed some success in our town. I think it peaked somewhere in the mid 30's on the Top Hot 100. I am embarrassed to admit this, but--yeah--I called Chris the "lovely" Chris Montez too. Now I wish I had not done that. In hindsight, I great song by a really good artist.

  • lovely song!! so many nostagic memories, thank you !! here in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Punta del Este, Uruguay I loved Chris Montez, and his peculiar voice sounded like a female

  • I've always enjoyed the handsome & talented Mr Montez's version of this 1940's classic tune. He also made the 40's hit "The More I See You" popular to a new generation in the 60's. What a unique talent! And what a dynamite arrangement. And I love the photos involved in your montage! KUDOS! Thank you VERY much for sharing this delightful "blast from the past" with us! You have without a doubt MADE my day & my weekend! :)

  • @JubalCalif Growing up I heard him do "The More I See You," "There Will Never Be Another You," and "Call Me," but interestingly not this one. It wasn't until listening to a nostalgia station more recently that I discovered this. I loved it, and it was the only one of his hits not posted on YT at the time, so I posted it. Thank you very much for your kind comments.

  • @JubalCalif One more thing. You called him the "handsome" Mr. Montez. That makes me laugh as it brings to mind the DJs back in the '70s that referred to him as the "lovely" Chris Montez, poking fun at the fact that he sounded like a female.

  • @MrTrashcan1

THANKS for your insightful & thoughtful comments, Trash Can Man! Didn't know that about DJ's in the 70's calling Chris Montez "lovely" due to his high voice. Actually, as all of us fans of 60's music know, there were many male singers with high voices back then (Little Anthony, Lou Christie, etc). Talenteed fellas all! Thanks again! :)

  • @MrTrashcan1 I actually thought it was a woman singing "call me"...until now!...after so many years!

  • Excellent post!

  • Love this version of this classic tune! (i've been looking for this for six months) and the video is alot of fun to watch! Thanks for posting this gem!!

  • @fassination80 : Thanks for sending this to me! I remember this well, and like

it so much. I always thought this was a great teatment of the old standard song. The other one you sent from Trashcan is cool, too. Thanks, friend!

  • The first 2 Chris Montez LP's were absolutely killer, and the next 2 weren't too shabby. The whole A&M approach to creating his records was just flawless, and I've loved 'em since the early 80's when I relentlessly pursued them all after having been blown away by the first. Thanks for posting-

  • I Love Chris Montez !! My mom used to fill the house with his music when I was really little. It brings back so many childhood memories. Thanks for sharing this !

  • I did a mix tape c. 25 years ago with this cut followed by Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time". "Time After Time after Time After Time...". Not as amusing as this slide show.

  • Great rendition and musical arrangement. I wonder if the late Chairman of the Board, Mr. Frank Sinatra, when he was still alive, had heard of this upbeat version of 'his' love song by Chris and what would have been his opinion of this rendition.

  • @ezekielbravo333 I think Ol' Blue Eyes would have liked it.

  • Wow! Thanks...so many memories...

  • Good to have this underrated Chris Montez recording back along with the multitude of chronometers!

  • Then I assume you weren't the one who gave it one star. :-)

  • You know that this is one of my all-time favorites!
