  • He makes it look easy.

  • you said "i'm just gonna" x60 times :D

    thanks for the tut ^^

  • can this be controlled easily with mouse and keyboard, or does it require some sort of digital drawing equipment?

  • @gosztonnyino yes. you can you can use mouse keyboard, but much better if you have your pen tablet (wacom),

  • can you use this as a game character

  • starts at 1300 poly's... with arms and legs i assume about 3000 polys... a little more detail in 3dsmax and this is a completed game charicter... amazing how many polygons mudbox adds, movie graphics blow my mind

  • Why is it that when I try to sculpt, or grab in level 3, it fucks everything up like it doesnt work smoothly like with you :(

  • @Markio123123 I have the same prob

  • @Markio123123 maybe hardware issues?.

  • @mstyle028 most likely

  • It can be modeling in 3D Studio? and sculpting in Mudbox?...or is necesary Maya?

  • can someone tell me if i can get this for free there is no way i am paying the prices for this but i really want this

  • @tylerlilmonsta yes if you are a student you can get if for free just buy using your student email address and it will get you 13 months worth of the software. or if you would like a permanent license for students you can go to a website call journeyed. you can get 3ds max, maya, mudbox, motionbuilder, softimage, and sketchbook pro all for like $399(which really is an excellent deal. But if you think the price of the software is too much you man not have a machine capable of running it since...

  • @tylerlilmonsta ... because a computer capable of running it well will cost more than a commercial license for mudbox

  • @PaganScukptures

  • can you retopologize in this program?

  • @warhawk no, you can not.

I would recommend anyone to buy Zbrush, and later on as you get deeper into the industry get 3dCoat for retopo jobs!

  • What processor did you have?

  • Does this only work on nurbs or does it work on polygons? I'm just wondering if I need this program for modeling characters for video games... I think most games just use polygons...

    huh?

  • Can you use the premade Mesh inside mudbox of the human model, rig this in 3d studio max and apply the motion capture data to it? would this work?

  • you already made that figure moron show how to get started

  • @minime404 Thats why the title reads mudbox SCULPTING TUTORIAL you retard. Modeling and sculpting are different things dumb shit go earn some money and join an institution and educate yourself.

  • Thanks Autodesk!

    @GermanArmyX

How do I import this from Maya to Mudbox? Could you help me? Because I cannot find it.

  • @iPOLLUTE on maya go to file>export all>under file type choose FBX export>save to any folder>go to mudbox>file>import>and open your file

  • Thanks for the intro. Well, I'm not that much familiar with this software but i would like to ask something, what is the different " I mean in the obtained result" between using Mudbox and using Zbrush, is there any difference, OR the final result are almost the same, just like using any other 3D software like using 3D max or Maya!!!.

  • @manilamerc yes you can, try exporting your mesh as a obj file, and then pick the mudbox preset. It should import to mudbox with no problems.

  • hey could I use a 3ds max model and put it into Mudbox for sculpting?

  • where can i get that model

  • @obiwan544

  • hold the "b" key and use your mouse to change the brush size

  • @PlayerOblivion The square Brackets near the enter key. Left square bracket smaller, right square bracket bigger.

  • i got it and i installed it it installed properly and everything but i cant actually see the shape where the object should be like the body doesnt show up its just white

  • finally a tutorial for mudbox !!

  • Maya is a 3d modeling/ animation program, this is for sculpting. People make the basic shape on maya and import it into here for detail.

  • Cheers just got a copy of maya so i should work it out thanks again

  • @marksest isnt maya for mac only

  • @obiwan544 No, its for PC too

  • @marksest so lets say i make a 3d model of my hand in maya and import to mud and add details... can i import it back into maya if lets say i wanted my hand a little bigger. i was guesing the skin (details added in mud) will stay im mud and the sketeton will be exported back to maya to get increased?

  • @addobernard As far as I remember it would take the entire model back to maya, details included. Mudbox still uses polygons to sculpt, so it should still work completely fine in maya, mudbox just has more convenient modeling tools.

  • @addobernard From what it said on the autodesk website it did say that it can export to maya.

  • goggle first before posting stupid reply
