  • OK, I have been a fan of Leo's since 1970's (saw him at the Phila Folk Fest. in '76). I think this has to be the greatest tune I have ever seen Leo play. Just phenomenal beauty and composition and talent. No one will ever match it or come close, IMO, to Kottke. "Morning is The Long Way Home" is amazing as is "Mona Ray", etc., etc., but I am just speechless after seeing him play this.

  • That looks like the shirt he was wearing on the the inside jacket on the "Chewing Pine" Album.

I think he liked that shirt.

  • Wish he could match the fire and intensity he had back then. Saw him a bunch; he would show with two guitars and just blow the roof off.

  • Hey, maybe Scarlatti would've liked this.

  • Doesn't sound much like Scarlatti to me. Great music though, unique style :-)

  • Normally he would play this with one arm.

  • Doh I got that wrong - that was Scriabin wasn't it.

  • The piece is called The Scarlatti Ripoff...

  • None of this is by Scarlatti, D. or A. It's a medley of Kottke's songs and some extra improvised stuff.

  • A phase shifter, probably an MXR?

  • A phase Shifter.. proabaly an MXR.?

  • How did he get that synthesizer effect? It's amazing!

  • this is lovely.

  • This song is kick ass

  • thanks for the video! Just saw Leo last Saturday in San Francisco and got into the "meet & greet" after the show.

  • your are lucky :) if he´ll come to germany, i would visit him too.. did you talk with him?

  • Yes, I got to talk with him after & show him a T-shirt I painted, with his picture on it. He is really very nice.
