I think Cameron meant more specifically, on an individual's level to determine what is valid or true, and what is invalid or false in the media. There is a difference in focal point between certain issues or celebrities, and although it is a fine line, i think she was reffering to personal taste in contrast to her own. I don't think she meant to disregaurd the media entirely. But rather question how it portrays the 'news' and its influence on society.

If it came down to Cameron's talent alone, she would certainly not be where she is today. Consumers decide which people they want the paparazzi and magazines to pick on. And as for taking pictures at premieres, that is photgraphy to do with their career.
