@fowlmouthlabz She was only 8 months old and her first hunt. The dog that was making most of the noise was the other lab. Brook only whined when the ducks landed and we didn't shoot. She didn't quite understand that she couldn't retreive unless we shot them. She did great in my opinion for a first duck hunt. She has improved drastically since this hunt. She's still a puppy at 11 months, but she's doing great.
@MrGuitars8 It's a mix of dabblers. Over the season, the main duck we shoot are mallards, but we also shoot a lot of Gadwalls, teal, wigeon, pintails, and occasionally we shoot shovelers if it's a slow day. There are always lots of snow geese in the area, but we rarely target them. We will pick up the odd speckle belly goose in duck hunts when hunting fields like in this video.
just a suggestion my dog whined alot when she didnt get to go but i fix it by when throwing the dumby for her if she whined before i threw it i wouldnt throw it until she was quiet then i would throw it and if she whined while i had her on sit i would get it but if she didnt whine she would get to go get it she learned quick
yeah id defiantly say you need to get that dog figured out
