@yuurepoer People have said the exact opposite for some reason. I agree with you though: Fallout 3 is a better game. It has way more interesting locations, and there are more of them too. The plot is better, the map, the atmosphere etc. Ironsights is the one thing I cared for the most. Fortunatly there is the mod Requiem for the Capital Wasteland which allows me to play both games ! :)

The UFO is essencially a marker for the DLC Mothership Zeta in whitch the character is boarded onto an alien spaceship and has to fight to get back home..

You know, that crashed alien spaceship and the blaster was in the first Fallout and the Mothership Zeta DLC starts there. Those skeletons in dresses are exactly that though, skeletons in dresses and no ties to the Children of the Cathedral at all, it's just the generic female skeleton.

Once when I was up near Oasis, I heard what sounded like a missile strike, very close by, but I saw nothing to indicate an explosion. But a few yards ahead the area became radioactive (with no apparent source) and I found some power cells for the alien blaster--maybe 6 or 7 shells. This was some ways east from the area that the player can launch a missile strike using the Fort Constantine codes. Anyone else ever run into anything like that? It's mystified me as it has only happened once.

@zoyclem It's an Random Encounter. The weapon you got is called "Firelance". Another version of the Alien Blaster but more powerful. It's pretty rare to get this encounter.
