In my opinion, i think that Kate is one of those Glindas that play for laughs, which is something that an actor should never do in my opinion. But, i really don't see why everyone on here is saying that she was terrible. She was off, i'll give you that, but overall she was an okay Glinda.
I think she did a great job as G(a)linda. She wasn't my favorite, but she did a really good job. And it wasn't that she was bad, but just like Megan Hilty, she gets too carried away in trying to get a good laugh from the audience.. Thats all (Don't get me wrong, I loved Megan as well!)
@lisambofoh I like Saycon as Elphaba, but Kate as Glinda?! What the hell were they thinking when they casted her?! I fail to see why anyone would think Kate is a good Glinda! Critic reviews said she was awful and people even walked out of the theatre during her "Popular" scene. I feel really sorry for Saycon.

Look at the bit where Elphaba tells her that her father hates her, she shows zero emotion. No sympathy. She's just being her usual idiotic self. Saycon on the other hand is one of the better Elphabas.
Sorry but I only wanted to let it out that Kate is not a good Glinda and it's not only me that thinks this. If Helen and Alli get bashed on their videos then so can Kate.
@perfume1965 Sure I get that but to disrespect her by walking out of the theatre is a bit much. Her acting may suck but her soprano and vibrato are killer. Btw Helen isn't that bad she just acts too fake but her voice is good...........and what's wrong with Alli? She's not bad
@perfume1965 i seriously doubt people walked out of the theatre after hearing her performance for two reasons 1. it isnt that bad, its funny and 2. who does that? no one, and people are paying hundreds to see the show which doesnt even revovle around Kate Reinders i think your wrong in that aspect. But i do believe she doesnt put enough of the seriousness into glinda shes too crazy and bubbly..
@TheCoryChannel I know because people have TOLD me she was horrendous. I've READ REVIEWS where they said they walked out because they couldn't stand her anymore. Kate's perfor,ance lacks depth and she is not only emotionless but she is just too much! How can you say she's not that bad?!
@perfume1965 if she were that "horrendous" they wouldn't have cast her for a broadway show. Her acting is a bit weak, yes, but she does put her own twist on the glinda character, and the audience loved it. and as for the reviews thing, you cant go off of those as being true, that sounds like a mega exageration, they were probably just going to the restroom:)
i love her! i saw her when i was like 12 or 13, so i was too young to know what amphetamines were and recognize symptoms of people who were on them. i actually think she'd be a really good glinda if she'd reduce her dosage from once between every scene to once or twice a day.

I feel sorry for anyone who has to pair up with her. She did a performance with Eden once and Eden looked really miserable. Once Megan came back, she brightened up again. I'm not saying you can't like Kate but you're in the minority.

The thing about this one, is she seems to have attempted a mix of Kristen's Galinda, Megan's Galinda, and Julie Walters. And it doesn't quite work.
