  • I love Grandpa Potts.

  • haaaa ya watch it as ya get older ya understand the little jokes in it that you are too young to understand when your younger but the magic is still there lol :) xx

  • 100 years and woman seem to still suck at driving vehicles.....

  • @PheonixRising2988 Hey, my mum's pretty nifty when it comes to driving. In fact, she pulls the odd drift every now and then.

  • @PheonixRising2988

I'm offended, and I'm not even a woman.

  • @Xsilence87 I was simply quoting dick van dyke's character's dialog, I actually found it funny just cuz of how they thought about women back in the early 20th century. Of course nowadays things are much different and women should be treated as equals to men in almost all manners.

  • Who does that truly scrumptios think she is? A woman when womans rights are equal to mans? PSHHH like THAT would ever happen. Now get in the kitchen n make me a sammich woman!

  • @143rdShadowARCunit

what excactly is your problem? women have always been like that, it's just that men either don't listen or just silence them. of course, she's an upper-class woman and as such has every right to talk down on someone like mr potts. I don't think she's adress a man of her own stature like that.

  • @Xsilence87 im sorry I should have put this at the end of my comment for people like you

    ahem...

    *dripping with sarcasm*

  • @143rdShadowARCunit

yes, that would tend to help, because unfortunately I have met people who really do feel like that about women (or other "minority" groups)... if you really were being sarcastic (I ususally point this out at the end of my comments because people can't exactly hear the tone of voice you're using in your head) then I'm sorry if I insulted you.

  • @Xsilence87 thats alright. I just figured my comment would be so retarded (plus the make me a sammich part) that people would get the sarcasm. I hold women on equal ground as men. Actually above some since most of the dudes i know are massive DOUCHES.

  • she was a good looking lady back in the day

  • when MR.POTTS said away with carpets... HE MENT AWAY WITH CARPETS! xD

  • Family Guy (james woods episode) did a knock off of this :)

  • away with sweeping, away with brushing, and away with dirty carpets!

  • "you have just succeded in ruining my proprotion" lol she sertanly did

  • "Try switching it ON!"

    lolz

  • "Good afternoon miss, can't stop. I'm off to India going to have a cup of tea with the maharaja. Cheerio!"LOL

  • it's weird how everyone is speaking with a British accent but him

  • @MrDianaprince More interesting is why it took me till now to notice that and I've watched this movie since I was a kid. Never payed attention to that. I'm geussing he moved there before the kids were born or when they were very young....

  • i want a breakfast machine.

  • @aapenjong Peter Griffin bougfht one. It was a little faulty :P

  • "maybe my children like running about in the street!" If I was her, I would have slapped him and said "well I doubt they'd like being killed!"

  • This film lacks one thing Mary Poppins 'ad: Dick Van Dyke's 'orrible English accent.

  • @dharmaseed

That would have bin inapporpriate for an INVENTOR, my luv

  • @KiranGopalAshtekar How so? Namaste.:)

  • I love his breakfast invention

  • @gibboner911

Oh yes, I remember being sooo thrilled by it when I saw it as a kid

  • 6:55 hmph---WOMEN.

  • (Continuing from the Comment I left on Part 01 of this wonderful film.)

Jesus (Hay-Zeus, my Cheyenne Chevrolet 4X4) and Chitty have several simple things in common, they were both going to be sold for scrap and they both suffered an engine fire at one time or another.

Jesus' wiring harness behind his engine block was totaled when we first met, so me and my Dad had to scrape the melted plastic off of the engine block before we pulled it out to have the carbon sludge inside it cleaned out.

  • har!!-- at 7:40, where the boy doesn't answer the question of whether his dad's a crackpot.

  • i'd like to drive a car like her's it looks more simle than my own car :)

  • I luv this movie. reminds me of the good ol' days when i watched when i was younger!

  • what a father! :) -- I havvvve you twoo!

  • shouldn't a good father care that his children are wearing dirty clothes and aren't cleanly kept? oh well, good movie though

  • @ichigoXneko

well they are poor cos the dad dont have a job so we hardly expect them to dress like the royal family! :)

  • @ichigoXneko their family is poor

  • heh hey! Good afternoon miss srry i cant stop ima off to india going to have a cup of cup with the Gaṇarājya Cheerio LMFAO!! XD Looka his walk hahahaha

  • Sweet making machine.

    I WANT ONE. . . . .

  • "Does he know what he's doing?"

    "Of 'course he does!"

    "WOAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!"

  • Loved all the songs in this movie!

  • lol parents should say that everytime the truant officer comes round :)

  • "Well maybe my children LIKE running wild in the streets, did that ever occur to you?"

    Best dad ever~<3

  • 6:10 - He would NEVER get away with a comment like that today!

  • @PriceRight89 It was appropriate since the film was set in 1910.

  • "transmit moving pictures by wireless". Wow!

  • I fixed some popcorn for this occasion^^

  • I love the british accent!

  • does anyone know when the remake coming out??though when it comes out it won't ever be as great as this original!!I love it!!!!!!!

  • God, This film is timeless! My parents watched it growing up, I watched it growing up... It never gets old!

  • Movies like this always have the best sets and costumes. When not on a sound stage they also filmed in some of the most beautiful areas. They don't make many like this anymore.

  • I'm 23 yeras old but it's my favourite movie! I LOVE THIS MOVIE! :)

  • Thank you so much for posting!!! Ive been looking for this EVERYWHERE!! :)

  • Ohh, the crazy major-general. There's always one. :P

  • OMG!!-Its the DOCTOR WHO's super car ,-OL'Bessie that the lady Truly Scrumptous was driving-Sure does look to be that same model car-What year is that thing?(And*WHO*pun intended >=)p was the maker of that old model car?)

  • Trulys car is a 1909 Humber 8hp.

P.S - you should sync it and fix the sound. It screws it up.

  • Im off to India. Gonna have a cuppa tea with the Maharaja!

Ive heard plenty of euphemisms for taking a dump, but Lionel Jeffries has all the best ones in this film.

He even dresses for the occasion.

  • the old man is funny :) awesome movie i havnt seen this in years xD

  • OMG, the rocket scene is helarious

  • This is one of my all-time favorite movies! There isn't a single song in it I don't love, though my favorites are Me Old Bamboo and Doll on a Music Box.

  • "If women are going to drive motor-cars, around here, they should learn to operate one, correctly.".

  • @tthomaselli2 hahahahahaha fucking love the expressions from these old films,

  • the grandpa in this movie is my idol.

old, english, slightly off base, and likely been to every corner of the world.

  • came out when i was six, sang the song for months after seeing it. had the board game. what fun.

    thanks for posting!

  • there was a board game of the film????

i lve this film, itz my fav . . . . . . . . . . . evn if it iz a reli old film like 50+ years old. i av the special edition ov the film which iz fantastic :D

  • i am confident of it only because it is in an old christmas photograph. most likely parker brothers, although i confess posting this without any further research.

one of my fondest childhood memories is of my mother singing the song with my brother and me. we also loved singing "back off boogaloo" by ringo starr and "chirpa chirpa cheep cheep." no sophisticates, by any means, but certainly a warm, loving childhood.

  • Doesnt matter how old a film is if it's timeless it's timesless. I have it on VHS and want it on DVD. I havent seen this is years pretty much since we got a DVD player lol
